pray for victory baptist church in abbeville,sc . they recently asked me to be their interium pastor possibly through december. this church is at a point where it may have to decide to either to reach out or close. it is in a community which is changing in its make up.

I certainly will brother. Where is the church located? I sometimes help teach a concealed weapon class there with the AIC for Abbeville County Parole office, Ed Strickland.

I used to frequent Abbeville a lot as I am only about 1-1/2 hours away.

I definitely will be in prayer for that Church preacher Chris as well as yourself. What do you mean by reach out? Do they not go soul winning? It is quite ironic to me that a lot of Churches complain about either lack of growth or declining membership yet the members cannot tell you when the last time they sat next to a pregnant single woman, a homosexual struggling for all he or she is worth to get right with God, a person smelling of alcohol or any of the other castoffs of society. Remember Jesus said the well don't need a physician but the sick. As a lot of folks sit comfortably in their Churches in the shadow of the steeple someone is dying. On the streets of every city, town and hamlet in this country people are dying every day of addictions and problems the like of which most of us cannot even imagine and yet they are going to hell because they had no one reach out to them with the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

we will be having a revival meeting oct 15-19 with jonathan shook. today i had some help from two independent baptist churches to go door to door. this has not been done before i came.pray that the people will be open to new people coming in.

does anybody know of a young preacher that would like to get some experience in. if so let me know. if i am going to do anything with this church i am going to need some help. the revival went well. we had between 19-37which is a great deal more than comes to the regular services.

Brother where are you located? I may know of a young man who is interested.

continue to pray for victory. both the former pastor and his wife have died in the past month. also the church still needs a pastor. the church was started by 1st baptist. several years ago they got out of the local association. i called the association director and ask about this church and he thought it was already independent. he did find out that in the year before i came in to help they only gave a total of $ 2oo to the state convention. the sbc in the area will not give any names of preachers because it is not part of the association and the independents are as bad. the church will be having to look at someone in the near future please let me know if you know of a good independent preacher.
