Is this the chair which is decorated with the labours of Hercules? David Job 19:25 But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth, And at last he will stand up upon the earth: |

Davo,
I never heard of the Feast of the Chair either. But then I do not pay attention to or participate in most of the feasts of the Catholic Church. The only Holy Days of Obligation that I go to Mass on are the Holy Days of Obligation that deal with Christ. I do not attend Mass for any other Holy Days of Obligation. |

I wonder what Jesus' response would have been had he had that chair whilst here on earth......
"Peter, why are you sitting down where there is so much work to be done?" I am not trying to be humorous either. I give utmost respect to the Lords deity when saying this. The very fact that any chair or throne is associated with any man on earth represents a type of "authority" or "deification" in man's eyes, whether intentional or not. Not that this is bad enough, but a chair that is raised above all other chairs placing direct importance to it via gold inlay, ornate carvings, symbols, and other carvings which misplaces it's importance. Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. |
