Are only "Catholics" "saved"?

The subject is self explanatory...Are only Catholics saved or will other denominations be saved as well....?

Just wondering...I know what some Catholics believe, but I was wondering what the Catholics who don't believe what Catholics believe believe.

Yes Non Catholics can be saved and Catholics and anybody else can be saved if they receive Christ as their Savior. That is an insult stating that I sound like a Baptist because I do not want to have anything to do with Baptists how nutty the Baptists are.

Depends who you mean by "Catholics"

There are Roman Catholics

In the UK goverment religious returns in about 1839, the group known as Plymouth Brethren were called "Catholic,- not Roman".

In the 1800's also Edward Irvings church was called "The Catholic Apostolic Church"

in order to become saved you must believe god died on the cross for your sins... and you must ask for forgiveness... anyone who does this will be saved.

catholics believe god died on the cross, but they don't believe he rose from the dead... i think anyways.

That being said, sadly, most Roman Catholics are NOT saved. I have talked to many of them who are not saved. Salvation is not taught them. They still have our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ hanging on the cross.

Interestingly enough, statistics show that the largest "movement" among sects and denominations in the US recently is the Roman Catholics leaving that abomination of an organization to become fundamental Baptists!! Imagine that.

what are their beliefs about christs death on the cross? that he didnt die for our sins?

The problem is not the belief as in intellectual assent. It is the understanding of the word "belief". They also believe many other things in addition to Christ crucified.

Christ alone saves, mediates, interecedes, and prays for us. No human, saint, angel, or demon has anything to do with your salvation or intercession.

I'm actually not sure of the question you are asking but here's my answer.

It doesn't matter what religion you are. Being saved means you believed the gospel(the death,burial,and the resurrection),repented of your sins and gave your life to God at a certain point in your life. The only way religion relates to salvation is that in some (most)religions,true salvation isn't preached so therefore few of that religion(whatever it may be)get saved. They often add or take away something.Such as taking away(or not sharing) the resurrection or adding works.

Finally someone else on this discussion forum who thinks logically and analytically concerning salvation by stating that it does not matter what church someone who has received Christ as their Savior belongs to as long as the church believes that Christ is God and believes in the Holy Trinity.

All of those Catholic doctrines that you listed are all illogical and unscriptural and thus I have dispensed with all of those illogical and unscriptural Catholic doctrines and I have also dispensed with the parts of the Mass that are illogical and unscriptural.
