The pope is head priest of the Roman religion and of the temporal power, and as such is "Pont Max". The first Roman priest to be head of The Roman religion and power and bearing the title "Pont Max" was Julius Caesar. He must therefore have been the first pope.
As I said on another thread, the RCC claims peter was elected pope in AD 33. He is shown in the Bible to be in other places untill after that time. David David Job 19:25 But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth, And at last he will stand up upon the earth: |
