Quote:If you would like a real KJ 1611 AV download E-Sword.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest! I also recommend that the Webster's 1828 Dictionary be downloaded when you get e-Sword.

From the history I know of the King James Bible the changing of the spelling started in 1765 and was completed in 1769. The reason this was done is that until that time the spelling in the English language had not been standardized. If you look at a facsimile of the actual 1611 edition you find numerous places where the same word is spelled different ways. It makes for interesting reading.

The Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary of the American Language is the book we have available that is most accurate as far as the meanings of the words in the Bible. Until he published his dictionary there was not any kind of book in existence that had the accurate American definitions. It makes a wonderful study tool

In fact Webster usually includes passages of scripture in the dictionary in order to give a better understanding of the word.

Young's analytical concordance is also a valuable tool but I do not know if it is available from e-Sword or not. I know it can be found very reasonably priced on e-Bay.

RE: King James Version - 1611 - Authorized Version
I like the Dictionary on E-Sword. I've got an old school Websters Dictionary that I keep handy, its a later edition than the one in E-Sword. I like to use it for it to has many Bible verses in it to help explain the meanings of many of its words.

I don't suppose they will allow a dictionary in a public school now days that has Bible verses in them.

I might add, back in the late 90's I bought a new Websters dictionary, I want hardly use it, and if I knew them what I know now I would not have wasted my money on it.

May God bless,
Jerry
