Prayer Request - Dr. Norman Eoute
Folks Please pray for our pastor Norman Eoute. He is getting ready to go through his third, yes third aneurism surgery. He has been our pastor for 40 years and is a compassionate, obedient minister for Christ. He will be going in to surgery on August 12th. We are located in Simpsonville, SC at Faith Baptist Church.

All of the cardio doctors have told him that he should be dead, and he led one of them to Christ! Praise God!

Please pray for him. We love him and have a good flock because of his work in Christ. Of course Jesus Christ gets the credit!

Thank you all and God bless.

Jim

I want to thank you all beforehand for all of your prayers. I remember
James 5:16:
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

I will post updates here as I receive them.

He has already gone through two aneurism surgeries and God performed miracles!

Update:
I just spoke to my pastor, He is in the hospital going through pre-op.

An amazing man! He kept talking to me about his concern for the doctors and nurses' salvation! He has witnessed to all of them and is praying fervently for them before the surgery. He is in good spirits and trusts the Lord completely on this. He loves to tell jokes and has such a light heart, also.

Please pray for his dear wife, she is going to need strength during this time also. She has been a help meet and dear companion to him this many years and needs our prayers.

Thank you all for praying.

In Christ,

Jim

Update
We just received a call that our Pastor's heart is not responding after the aneurism surgery. He has been in surgery now for approximately 4 hours.

I believe God's will be done. We know Jesus knows best and I rejoice in whatever decision He has made.

I will let everyone know the results at the end of the surgery, it is not over yet, the doctor's are doing everything they can(of course, we know however, God is in control!)

Please keep praying urgently,

In Christ,

Jim

Update
God is Good!

We just heard the reason his heart stopped responding was due to the amount of scar tissue from the previous aneurism surgeries. They have him in the ICU and his pupils are responding and normal body functions are returning!

God bless you all for your prayers.

They said they will be monitoring him closely for the next two days, and said that it will be "touch and go".

I will still keep updating, and PLEASE continue to pray!

In Christ,

Jim

I got an update from our assistant pastor last night. Our pastor had a heart attack during the aneurism surgery, that was why his heart stopped responding, actually. He is in VERY critical condition, even though his body is functioning normally thus far.

They say the next 72 hours will be the most critical. He had an aneurism the size of a baseball and lost a lot of blood during the surgery. They will not know until later if he will have any brain damage.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. I humbly ask you to please continue praying for him.

Thank you all,

In Christ,

Jim

Sorry about the delay on the updating. As you can imagine, it has been very emotional and stressful this weekend.

He is doing very well besides an infection he caught from the hospital. He is breathing almost entirely on his own, his heart is in rhythm, and they are going to wake him up today to asses brain damage, etc. if there is any.

I just want to let you know how critical this is. They said he suffered a heart attack on the operating table and all of the doctors were ready to pronounce him dead because they just couldn;t get his heart to start beating again. They had to manually massage his heart. One of the Chief Cardiologists, Dr. Langhan, pastor led to Christ before the first surgery. He grew attached to pastor and had to leave the operating room due to his emotions running high. Also, a nurse said it was the first time in 26? years she had ever seen someone pray with all of the doctors and staff before they started the surgery. Sad, isn't it?

We have been told by every doctor so far, they do not understand why he was alive. Through 3 aneurisms, at his age, every doctor had given him a 0% chance of survival. But we have a good God. His ways are past finding out!

I will continue to post results as they come. Mrs. Eoute especially wanted me to tell all of you to thank you so much for your prayers. Please continue to pray, however, as he still needs them. He is still in critical condition in the ICU.

Thanks and love through Christ Jesus our Lord,

Jim

Urgent request - Please pray!
We got a report from the Chief Cardiologist a few minutes ago.

Our pastor is not waking from his medically induced coma. He has been off of the medication for almost two days now. He also has a lung infection which they are treating with antibiotics.

Please pray specifically that:

1) He will come out of the coma
2) There will be no blood clots
3) there will be no brain damage
4) that the medication will take care of the lung infection
5) that he will have no paralysis

I really thank you all and greatly apppreciate your thought, concerns, and prayers.

In Christ,

Jim

This because of people like you
This is all because of people like you Mr. Green

Quote:Praise the Lord!

Today started on a down trend. Pastor had a high fever, his breathing
was labored and he was facing surgery for the tracheotomy. We called and
asked for prayer.

This afternoon, Dr. Langan came out to see the family, and he said that
Pastor was looking good and doing fantastic. Mrs. Eoute questioned him
and he took her by the hand and led her back to Pastor's room. She found
him awake and alert!!!!!!!!! Here are some of the things that happened
while she was back with him:
1. He was responding to commands
2. He smiled
3. He mouthed a few words (he can't talk with the respirator)
4. He puckered up to give Mrs Eoute a KISS!!!!!!!!!!

The tracheotomy was done at 4:00. It went well. Pastor must not have
wanted to be put asleep to do the procedure. It took three times the
normal anesthesia to put him under.
The doctor feel that it will take 12 to 24 hours to come out from this
surgery.

Specific prayer requests:
1. The fever will stay down
2. The infection in his lungs will go away
3. Pastor will wake up completely
4. There will be no brain damage
5. There will be no paralysis

The way the Lord is using all your prayers is not just in the healing of
Pastor Eoute. The way the Lord has shown His mighty power is having a
great testimony to many of the unsaved hospital staff. We have been
praying all along that the Lord will be glorified and what a better way
for Him to raise Pastor from the sick bed and allow Pastor to share the
Gospel with them.

Thank you for all your prayers and passing this on to others to get under
the burden. Thank you for the e-mail that you have sent to Mrs. Eoute.
Please keep them coming.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me and I will show thee great and mighty things
which thou knowest not.

God Bless you all for your prayers! This what happens when God's people pray!

However, please continue to pray, it is still an urgent request!

Its a Small World
What a small world it appears to be! I believe this is the same situation that was mentioned in our church this past Sunday. If this is the Pastor I think it is the gentleman that is the assistant Pastor of the Church has ties with our Church. I am a member of First Baptist Church in Santa Maria, California. If this is the same situation Pastor Barber, our senior Pastor presented this story to the Church this past Sunday and it was placed on our Prayer List.

I am certainly glad to hear that the Pastor is doing much better even if it is a different one. What an incredible witness to the power of prayer!

I am so glad that God Is Alive, He does answer prayer and He does still work miracles!

Yours in Christ,
George Groce
