Vatican Lashes out Against Sex Abuse Coverage

Does the pope think he can win a war against the press? I feel he is treading in dangerous territory. But the truth is, they walk in that territory every day of the year with the teachings they proclaim

I think they will win. They did regarding the record of the pope and church during WW2.

The Oxford Union debated whether the pope should be tried as a war criminal. An Italian MP said the pope's hands were dripping with blood. The church got their men off at the war crimes tribunal at Nuremberg.

The RC church is all powerful, they will cover everything up.

Of course I understand well the RCC will use any underhanded schema they can come up with, for there is no sin to deep or to evil for them to partake of.

What a wimp.

No backbone at all.

I use to know a preacher who would preach a real good sermon, stepping on many toes, but them spend about 5 minutes telling all of us how good we are, that this sermon has nothing to do with any of us, just nearly patting us on the back. I always thought, you don't have the lest bit backbone, plus his praises applied after the sermon would take away any convictions.

We had a pastor who preached on why the 10 commandments were for the church today. Afterwards I said to him "According to what you preached today we should have salad for Sunday lunch." I seem to remember that he said we should not kindle a fire on the Sabbath. He said "It would not suit me."
