I wanted to provide some educational information that I've recently come across, that corrected my misgivings about a gold/silver backed currency. For many years we had either/both of these metals backing our currency, which led me to believe it was the correct thing to do. Roosevelt eliminated the gold in '33 and Nixon did away with the silver in '72.

The information that I gathered is in the form of a documentary DVD entitled, "The Secret of Oz: Solutions for a Broken Economy" by Bill Still. It has garnered several domestic/international film festival awards and was sold through Amazon for 3 days, until they determined it was not politically correct. After several people complained, Amazon relented and is selling it again for $19.95. I contacted Mr Still though his website, http://www.secretofoz.com, and ordered a copy. It is 101 minutes long and is a veritable stunner from the beginning.

President Jefferson warned of the dangers of a central bank, and Presidents Jackson and Lincoln returned the nation to a government-issued currency, vice a central bank-issued currency. This is the reason that many of our elected representatives have been duped into thinking they can "borrow us into prosperity" and also why Rep. Ron Paul has called for an audit of the Federal Reserve.
