Live Nativity
We are doing something at our Church that I do not know has been attempted previously. We are putting on a live Nativity.

At First Baptist we have 25 acres which is much deeper than it is wide. There is a road that runs all the way through it from one arterial street to another. We have almost completed reconstructing the village of Bethlehem in the back part of the property which is undeveloped.

The buildings are of course constructed of wood because they are temporary. However the sides of the buildings have been painted to look like the typical brick of the Nativity time and also have had mortar lines painted on. We have animal pens and will have sheep, goats, cattle and perhaps other animals. Of course there are lots of people involved in the presentation also.

A lot of what is back there has been donated. The wood was all donated. We have a man who is loaning us 25 sheep and will deliver them and pick them up. Of course all of the labor has been done by the Church members.

People will drive up to our main entrance. When they arrive each will be given a cup of hot chocolate and also a CD which explains the birth of Christ and the plan of Salvation. People will then drive over the paved part of the road to the back property where the road turns to dirt and gravel. It is there the live Nativity has been built. When they have completed the journey they will exit the back property onto another arterial street.

It is amazing to see what has taken place on our back property! You all can help us through prayer. Pray that the Lord will give us good weather during the four nights we are putting it on. (It has been raining and quite cold lately.) Pray also that the unsaved who attend may be led to Christ through our efforts on His behalf.

I am really looking forward to this.

In Christ,
George

(Galatians 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

RE: Live Nativity
Amen! Sounds like a great opportunity to honour The Lord during the Christmas season and get the gospel out to the community. We have it on our prayer list.

P.S. How is your health coming along?

"Always correct the Bible critics with the King James' text and never worry about doing it. Do it cheerfully, prayerfully, and with thanksgiving, giving the glory to God and being assured that at the Judgment Seat of Christ, you won't have anything to worry about." Dr. Peter S. Ruckman

I am doing well Brother, thank you for asking. The Lord has once again gotten me past a "bump" in the road. Each and every time I have come down with something the Lord, I believe through the power of prayer, has gotten me passed it.

I thought for a long time that this syndrome I come down with periodically was unique to me. I have found out through my support group there are a number of others who suffer the same problem. As with me it takes them better than three weeks to get through it. It is really quite miserable.

However after my last set of CT scans showed that the tumors in the abdomen have apparently become necrotic perhaps it is at an end. I recall the words of the apostle Paul each time:

(2Co 12:7) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. (2Co 12:8) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. (2Co 12:9) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

In Christ,
George

(Galatians 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
