RE: Why did the animals have to die?
Like I said I give up. It was a legitimate question I had brought to some folks I thought might have insight. But the bias against even asking it is rather shocking. It’s not a question to gender strife… That is not my intent. Nor is it unlearned as some seem to imply. Understanding the past is key to understanding the future… Rightly dividing the Word not avoiding things in it.
I do believe had I had the opportunity to ask Paul or Peter or my LORD the tone, if note the very substance of the response would have been different, … One day I will find out, if not here, there. Davo engaged without strife in the question even though part of the premise he disagreed with…. Thank you Davo. |

RE: Why did the animals have to die?
Brother Nobody, first of all I must say that it appears you and I have been butting heads recently. I apologize for my part in that no matter what my thoughts or feelings are. It is not my position to try to create strife or condescension among the brethren. Please for give me if the things I have posted came across that way.
Secondly you have made an observation that is very valid here. When you stated, "But the bias against even asking it is rather shocking.", you are exactly correct. There is indeed a bias against such things here. I believe that is the primary reason we are so few. When we had the discussion about understanding things I believe we were on the same page but using different words. When I balked about understanding things it was from the standpoint of trying to understand why God has chosen to either include or omit certain things from the Bible. I did not mean it as saying we should not do everything we can to understand (read comprehend) what God has chosen to give us in His Holy Word. I must admit that I often wonder about things that are in the Bible. However the result always comes up the same. If God wanted me to really understand why He chose to either put something in the Bible or leave something out of the Bible, He would have given me the means to discover the reason(s). I have a difficult enough time studying and understanding the things that are written in the Bible without going off on a "rabbit trail" that has no answer but is merely the opinion of men. Brother Upholder said it all very well in his last, short post. In Christ, George (Galatians 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. |

Bro Nobody Wrote:Davo engaged without strife in the question even though part of the premise he disagreed with…. de rien as the French would say. I agree with George when he said Quote:I have a difficult enough time studying and understanding the things that are written in the Bible without going off on a "rabbit trail" that has no answer David Job 19:25 But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth, And at last he will stand up upon the earth: |

RE: Why did the animals have to die?
Thank you George, That is a reply of a true Christian Gentleman. Accepted. ANd pleas accept mine if I came across in an ungodly way.
I do disagree it is a question to gender strife… Rather the teacher and student that are in strife when one or both contain pride. If it be the student then the teacher is to teach in meekness not to avoid the question. He is to teach and avoid making it a question of strife…. As a pastor and missionary I try to never gender strife when our people ask questions. I actually encourage them in many services to ask questions. Handling them poorly can make nearly anything a question of strife… Upholders verse in context actually proves my point 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. I come to this board not as a master over another but as brother seeking and sharing. Your study and experience is not the same as mine. I met born again Jews a numbers of years ago and their depth of the scripture in the OT and Law and traditions opened up things I never would have grasped on my own due to a lack of experience in that area. Since coming to the mission field that too has opened so much more of the scripture to me that I never would have got j2ust reading and not understanding the context fully. The Bible is perfect and it is perfect for us from God. It is our failings that limit our understanding of it not it. I quit this board a number of years ago because of this same type of issue. I rarely have time to sit at a computer on line. All that being said thank you again George I might keep dropping in as time allows. |

RE: Why did the animals have to die?
Bro Nobody, if you look at Genesis 6:12, I think you'll see one of the reasons that The Lord destroyed ALL flesh.
"Always correct the Bible critics with the King James' text and never worry about doing it. Do it cheerfully, prayerfully, and with thanksgiving, giving the glory to God and being assured that at the Judgment Seat of Christ, you won't have anything to worry about." Dr. Peter S. Ruckman |

RE: Why did the animals have to die?
Mongol Servant Wrote:Bro Nobody, if you look at Genesis 6:12, I think you'll see one of the reasons that The Lord destroyed ALL flesh. Thank YOU MS. These are the verses that caused me to ask the question originally. Gen 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. That is my question what happened to the animal since they do not have the capacity to sin. How did they get corrupted, violent? Did men breed them to be so like today’s fighting dogs? But how would they do that to all flesh. Did they get corrupted by disease? Like Rabid? Possibly, but doesn’t fit the requirements. Hence the theory I had....But at best it is just that. I just followed the same thinking I had about Noah being perfect in his generation...He had an uncorrupted (minimally corrupted depending on your definition) bloodline from Adam. This only works is the sons of God were fallen angels. Good men on both sides of that idea. And that is another tangent I wasn’t wanting to go down on the board just because of the time involved. All we know is they no longer were following God's plan for them and needed to be destroyed along with mankind. I was just looking for insight as to what happened? Why? God is perfect in his Judgment and does nothing without cause. I also know it is something there are only a few clues to in the Bible. God has a way of Hiding things from us until we are ready to understand the mysteries made known….Its not by new prophecy and new revelation he makes these things known it is buy our growing close to him and knowing His Way upon the earth….which all flesh corrupted before the flood… Jude seems somehow connected… Jude6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. There are things I have learned and had to deal with since coming to the mission field that I would have perfered living my whole life being ignorant about. |
