Mongol Servants daughter
Folks,

I do not know if Mongol Servant has had time to post this here, so I will post it for him. Please pray for his littlest girl, Abigail. Read below:

Quote:Dear Friends,
I am writing an urgent request for prayer for our baby girl, Abigail. Last week, she was unable to hold down her usual routine daily breast-milk, or any of the multi-meal we have had her on. Her feces was also a very milkish-white color, but she had no fever and was not overtly ill-tempered. A few days ago, while changing her diaper, I noticed that her abdomen was swollen on one side and the lump felt very hard. We immediately took her to the provincial hospital and a sonogram was performed, which displayed a very large growth above her liver. Prior to her birth last year in San Diego, the doctors noticed what they thought was a small cyst above her liver, but told us that they did not think it would be a problem. The doctors here in the Gobi, have been doing the normal monthly check-ups and vaccinations, but did not notice this lump until we did. The Gobi provincial hospital referred us to the pediatric surgeon in the capitol city. They also performed another sonogram, and told us that the growth/lump was sitting on top of her bile duct and was dangerously restricting the liver's function, hence the whitish feces. The surgeon recommended immediate surgery to prevent further complications. We are very concerned about allowing surgery by the Mongol doctors, due to numerous procedural problems, coupled with horror stories from others who have undergone Mongolian surgical procedures. Several Mongolian doctors stated that this surgery is a very rare and difficult procedure, and further advised us to go outside of the country for the surgery. Many of you are aware that we have no medical insurance, and insufficient funds to travel outside Mongolia. Round-trip tickets to Korea, plus visas would run in the neighborhood of $1800USD, for Tungaa & I, plus the baby. We are unsure of the cost of staying in Korea or the cost of the surgery there. There is a Korean doctor here, Dr Paul Choi, along with a Swiss surgeon, who have agreed to perform a CT-scan in order to diagnose the growth, prior to any surgery. They will then make a recommendation as to when and where to have the surgery, either here in Mongolia or possibly Korea.
We have made arrangements for maintaining the church services in our Gobi church, in our absence, as well as the other outreaches. We will try to get an international calling card (we are in the capitol city, UlaanBataar) and call when possible. Please make Abigail a part of your personal, group, and church prayers. We will attempt to update you as we get more information. Abigail and Tungaa have been admitted to the hospital here in the capitol, for observation and further testing. The CT-scan is scheduled for tomorrow, and the surgery consultation for Monday. If the surgery is done here in Mongolia, by the Swiss surgeon, with Dr Choi's consent, it will take place on either Wednesday or Thursday - June 10 or 11th.
Please continue on Abigail's behalf before the throne of grace. This is a very serious event for a 9-month old to endure, in addition to her Mother. Tungaa is holding up well, under the circumstances, but also covets your prayers. Stay tuned and Lord Bless.

As of this posting they have been consulting with doctors in various places and have had no reports. I will post them as I receive them.

PLEASE be in fervent prayer for them and their family.

Love in Christ,

Jim

Will definitely be praying over this. I could not imagine having a young child have to go through this.

RE: Mongol Servants daughter
Father in heaven,

I come before the "Throne of Grace" on behalf of Abigail, Tungaa, and Mongol Servant. Please comfort little Abigail as she prepares to undergo this surgery - whether it is done by Dr. Choi or another physician. I ask you, Father - to be with Abigail and her parents. Please guide the physician's hands, Jesus, throughout this little baby's ordeal. We know you are the "Great Physician" Lord Jesus. I pray that the doctor and nurses - and all that care for Abigail - are able to correct this condition. She is so little, Lord - as you know. Please strengthen her body and give her parents strength and wisdom at this most difficult time. I ask that you bless ALL involved in caring for baby Abigail. Please place a "Hedge of Protection" around Abigail, Tungaa, Mongol Servant, relatives, and church family. I promise to give you honor, praise, and glory - Lord God. In Jesus Christ's precious and Holy Name. Amen.

~ Molly

RE: Mongol Servants daughter
Praise update, but keep praying, it is working!

Quote:Abigail underwent emergency surgery yesterday from 2pm - 6pm. The Mongolian pediatric surgeon, Dr Ganbayar, was trained in Korea for several years and Australia, and is the most experienced surgeon in the country. He was advised by an American heart doctor that is here, as well as a Korean physician that teaches at the university medical center, Dr Paul Choi. There was also a team of Swedish surgeons that assisted during the procedure.
Initially, Dr Ganbayar indicated that he may take a biopsy of the liver to inspect whether or not the cyst had caused any damage to it. However, once he opened up the abdominal cavity and inspected the area, it was not necessary. The bile duct was rerouted around the liver and into the intestines, and only one large cyst, instead of a perceived three, was removed.
Abigail will be in ICU for approximately 5 days, and will be fed intravenously so that food traveling thru the intestines, does not tear the sutures. On the 6th day, Tungaa can then begin to feed a small amount of breast-milk for about 3 - 4 days, and then, hopefully, back to normal feeding within 7 - 10 days. The doctors are monitoring her daily and indicate that things are progressing well.
We will update you all as things move ahead. Our whole family wants to thank everyone for your prayers and support.
Lord Bless
Bro James Owenby

Thank you all for your fervent prayers!

RE: Mongol Servants daughter
Heavenly Father,

I continue to place baby Abigail in your precious, heavenly arms. Praise God that things have gone better than expected for this little baby girl. Thank you so very much - Lord that you were able to find Abigail an experienced surgeon in Mogolia. I pray that Abigail continues to heal as only you can perform this miracle, Lord Jesus. Thank you for the knowledgable physicians that you have placed in her care. I specifically pray for Tungaa - as a mother bears unbearable pain for her sick child. That pain and bond cannot be broken, either. Also, please comfort Mongol Servant - Father. Please give him knowledge, undertanding, strength, rest, and healing from this event - as only a daddy knows that pain. I know that a dad has to stay strong for the sake of his wife. I pray that you give Mongol Servant this strength from above, Lord God.

Thank you Jesus for sending your team of doctors to care for this small little baby. I give you honor, glory, and praise that only one large cyst was found rather than 3. Amen! Please continue to give the doctors wisdom and knowledge as this baby remains in ICU for several days. Help Abigail gain her strength back through the nutrients given to her body through the intervenous feeding tube. Please keep her stiches from tearing, Jesus. I pray that Tungaa is able to resume feeding this precious baby shortly. Thank you, Father. In Jesus Name.

RE: Mongol Servants daughter
Praise The Lord! Thanks Bro Jim for posting this. Abigail has been released from the ICU and is with Mom in the normal recovery room. She is being monitored daily by the doctors and Dr Tumenasan and Dr Ganbayar are exceptionally pleased at how well things went in surgery and the recovery. At this point, the only concern is that Abby can only have about 30mg of breast-milk every 2 to 3 hours, so as not to endanger the sutures by forcing too much food thru the digestive system at once. She's not sleeping very well either and cries quite a bit, because she's hungry. Please continue to pray, as Tungaa's nerves are a bit frayed with the hospital stay and Abby's hunger pangs. Praise The Lord for everyone's prayers - we so much appreciate it!

Praise the Lord is right Brother! What a great testimony to the healing of the Great Physician. I shall continue to pray for not only Abigail but your wife and you also. Please keep us up to date on any future developments.

RE: Mongol Servants daughter
Thanks for your prayers, Brothers! Abby was released from the hospital yesterday, after a blood/urine test and another sonogram, to ensure things were in the right place. However, since she's been at home. she hasn't been able to hold down any food - she throws up everything. We took her back to the doctor and he has prescribed 2 more medications in an attempt to correct the dilemma. Keep praying!
