The pope's ponderings
The pope wonders "why God chose him"

http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/world/56174...god-chose/

Mr. Ratzinger speaks of his childhood and how he revered the pope of his day:

"Naturally, we knew, venerated and loved the pope -- it was Pius XI -- but for us he was unobtainably noble, in almost another world: Our father, but still inhabiting a reality far superior to ours."

But the Scripture says:

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"
(1 Timothy 2:5)

And, unlike the pope, we do not need to make an appointment to have an audience with our Saviour. We can bring our prayers before our Saviour at any time, and he hears us!

Our Saviour is not a distant, remote, or unapproachable figure. He is "noble", but not "unobtainable". He says "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out". (John 6:37)

I wonder: If I were to walk into the Vatican unnanounced and ask to speak to the pope, would I be granted an immediate audience, or would I be cast out by the security staff?

No pope for me; I have a Saviour who intercedes on my behalf and always hears my prayers!

Some more verses to consider:

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
(Hebrews 4:14-16)

Praise God that he has given us a high priest, our only mediator, Christ Jesus our Lord!

Occupy till I come (Luke 19:13b)

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)

RE: The pope's ponderings
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Its not nice to mock God, this man and the RCC mocks God every day. Mocking God, along with all their false teachings, they will not like what they reap from their labors. But until that time they will go right on mocking both the Father & the Son.

My prayer for this man is that he & his error and humble his self before God & confess his sins & beg for God's forgiveness. Even if he realize it there may be to much pride from having such a high man made postilion that he could never admit his sins.

In His service,
Jerry

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7
