SAN FRANCISCO -- The California Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld same sex marriages that were already performed but upheld voters' rights to ban gay marriage through the state constitution.

An estimated 18,000 gay couples tied the knot before the law took effect. The ruling suggests that gay couples can be afforded equivalent rights to heterosexual married couples but perhaps under a different name.

Gay rights demonstrators flooded the courthouse before the decision and immediately started protesting the ruling. Supporters of gay marriage had argued that the Legislature should have approved the change to the California constitution because of the vote's impact on the equal protection clause.

SAN FRANCISCO - The California Supreme Court is Upholding Proposition 8, the voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage.

While the State's High Court upholds the Gay Marriage Ban, it allows existing same-sex marriages to stand.

The estimated 18,000 gay couples who tied the knot before the Law took effect will stay wed.

Tuesday morning at 10, the Supreme Court announced its decision in a series of lawsuits seeking to overturn November's Proposition 8.

The Constitutional Amendment took away the right of same-sex couples to marry.

Proposition 8 superseded the Supreme Court's May 2008 ruling that legalized same-sex unions, by changing the State Constitution to outlaw them.

The decision Tuesday rejects an argument by Gay Rights Activists that the ban revised the California Constitution's Equal Protection clause to such a dramatic degree that it first needed the Legislature's approval.

The announcement of the decision caused outcry among a sea of demonstrators who had gathered in front of the San Francisco Courthouse awaiting the ruling.

Proponents of same-sex marriage all along the Central Coast have planned several events relating to Tuesday's Supreme Court decision.

In a way its good news, but the thing is the homosexuals will keep knocking at the door until they get their way, they love the path of the wicked. And the wicked are slowly getting the laws passed so that they can fully enjoy their wicked ways.

You are exactly right Brother. It was already announced yesterday that the "gays" intend to put another proposition on the ballot in the next election. They just don't seem to understand that when the people express thier will at the ballot box it becomes law. I can guarantee you though that if they do attempt to place another proposition on the ballot the people who passed Prop 8 in the first place will mobilize like they have n ot ever done before.

Its only the law as long as the majority of Americans vote for it, and or the majority of supreme court justices vote for it.

They know this and the majority of Americas and supreme court justices are going in the path of evil just as God told us they would.

Just watch, the republican party will slowly take up the ways of evil, for it will be their only way to power, without the evil ones on their side they will not be able to reach the power position.
