Is Christ worth it?
What do we owe Him? What is our responsibility to Him?

What do we think we are doing? Is life for us to enjoy?

Going back to basic fundamentals in our relationship to Christ can be very sweet.

The question bing asked on the topic may seem a little shocking at first glance, but is a legitimate question when asked in reference with our everyday actions.

What do we often find ourselves thinking on? The stress of the day? The responsibilities due that day? Meetings we need to attend? Activities taking our time at night.

Where is time for Christ?

If we fill our days with busyness, what is glorified by that busyness? Is it Christ-centered and focused? Or do we justify it as being Christ-centered even though it was manifested by our desires?

How much of ourselves, truly, do we dedicate to Christ? Is He worth it? Or is it something we do because we feel it is our responsibility?

How much does Jesus Christ really mean to us? Are you willing to sacrifice something you love doing most, and replacing that time in effectual fervent prayer, because He is worth it?

Where does our first love lay?

A man can sit for hours on end during the day going over in his mind what he "doesn't feel like doing" because he doesn't feel well, or simply doesn't feel up to it.

If it takes an amount of effort to give up something to give to the Lord, then there is something wrong with the time you are using.....that God gave you.

How much time would you spend in study, meditation, prayer, submission, and fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ, if He was truly your absolute love?

Would you spend "hours" with the Lord?

Is He worth it?

My shame comes from how often I make the excuse, "I don't feel like it" when it comes to regard the time I am to spend with the Holy Spirit when urged.

Imagine this. You who have children, or had children. If your child meekly comes up to you and says "Daddy,or Mommy, could you spend a little time with me?" How many would refuse? Your heart would be tendered and softened because someone you adore desires your time and energy.

How much more so that a perfect, sovereign, Creator who softly calls and dwells within us, desires us to spend time with Him? How can we say no? Yet so often we do!

Is He worth it?

The question could better be phrased WAS I WORTH IT???
Was I worth what HE endured?

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

He endured the cross for the joy that is me. That is very hard for someone like me to comprehend.

The best part of that is I do not have to comprehend it for it to be true.

Our question of joy comes from the peace of the Lord

Is. 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.

If you can enjoy these you can enjoy your life.

My life is full because of the fact that I attempt to put Him first in all that I do - work, pleasure, ministry ...

My life becomes empty and mundane when I loose sight and focus on Him.

Little though it may be, each day a little closer, a little more surrender, a little more peace, a little more joy.

Think back to where you were and where you are.

To God be the GLORY

I can answer that for myself rather quickly. There is no way that as a beaten up, broken down, old cancer ridden drunken drug addict I am worth the price He paid for me. There is no way and yet He loves me still. Amazing! Why me? Because I am one of His chosen. I am an adopted son. My goodness if ever I struggle to understand love all I need do is look to Him.

There is not one single thing God needs to hear from me. There is not one single thing I have to say that He does not already know. Yet He wants to hear from me. Why is that? Because despite my faults and many shortcomings He loves me. God loves me so much that He gave His only begotten Son to die on the cross to take my place. And yet I find that in my daily life I reject Him more times than I can even begin to count.

And yet He loves me still! I believe that because of our finite, human limitations it would take an eternity to understand infinity and I don't have an eternity. Yet when I do leave this earthly mess that we adore so much I won't need be concerned about understanding infinity because I shall be living it. Praise God for His love, His compassion, His goodness and His mercies among other things.

In Christ,
George

I thank God for that perfect love & grace as well, so undeserving as we are....what a covering that shed Blood of Christ truly is to what we really are.
Psalms 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Thank you Lord Jesus !
Amen

Be 'salt & Light' in all we do!
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If I may add a bit of thought to this that hopeful will add something good to the very good thoughts which have already been expressed on Christ's worth to us.

This is so true, it goes double for me I feel, but many today offer up excuse after excuse to God as our 1st father and mother did in the garden, instead of being as the publican who would not lift vp so much as his eyes vnto heauen: but smote vpon his breast, saying, God me mercifull to mee a sinner, Luke 18:13. KJ 1611.

I think that these verses offers insight into the worth of Christ to us.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that yee present your bodies a liuing sacrifice, holy, acceptable vnto God, which is your reasonable seruice.

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ. Neuertheles, I liue, yet not I, but Christ liueth in me, and the life which I now liue in the flesh, I liue by the faith of the sonne of God, who loued mee, and gaue himselfe for me.

Christ is worth so much to us that we ought to live our lives a living sacrifice for Christ, its our reasonable service, but it goes even further that, Paul tells us in Galatians that now it is not Paul that lives in Paul's body, but Christ liveth in Paul's body which means we let Christ have His way in our life

2Co 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

Letting Christ live in our body and not living for self is done because our love of Christ constrains us to do so, that is we freely let Christ live in us, we offer no resistance Christ living thru us and submitting to Christ's will as we live our life on earth.

Think of the reward for surrendering our live to Christ, that Christ offers us, "...Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb..." Revelation 19:9.

I just believe the true worth of Christ is understood by only a very few people, perhaps that is why so many of us fail to live that living sacrifice and to let Christ truly live thru us. To many times our love for self constrains us to live our very own will thus not letting Christ live thru us as we ought to do.

May the Lord bless,
Jerry

Wow Jerry, talk about sticking with the original writings of the King James bible. Good effort!

RE: Is Christ worth it?
Thank you Jim.

Sometimes I post the original KJ 1611, I have it on my E-Sword Bible on my computer. But I use the regular KJ for it much easier to read and for people to understand when your reading from the Holy Bible. But I feel they come out to mean the very same which of course those MV's do not, and of course those 2 be the only ones I have ever used. I'm not about to change now that I'm past 62 years of age.

May the Lord Bless,
Jerry

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodnesse; and for his wonderfull workes to the children of men:

RE: Is Christ worth it?
Yes the question is poised "Was I worth it?” The answer is unequivocally no. But that is what redemption is all about. Making value out of the valueless, Making Glory from wickedness…My only value is I have been allowed to touch the hem of His righteousness and he had mercy on me… For in me is no good thing save for the Grace and mercy of my LORD and Saviour.
