Prayer for two dear Brothers please.
The first is our senior deacon, John who is in his late 80s. He has Parkinsons and is very frail. He has to be dressed and aided in his walking, with an arm. He can't manage a stick or a frame. His wife is also not healthy, although she can walk, she has other problems which mean that she cannot get to many of our services. John, however attends all those that he can. He can quote large amounts of the KJAV by heart, more than anyone I know. Both his mother and father and his siblings were all deaf and dumb. He was the only one in the family who could hear and speak and as a child was sent to a neighbour's house to learn to speak. He now has a carer who has started attending a deaf lady and John has been teaching her sign language so that she can learn to communicate with the deaf lady.

The other brother is also called John and he and his wife were missionaries in the mining areas in Northern France for many years. John has prostrate cancer and it has spread to his bones. He has told the doctors that he doesn't want them to treat him. John's son has said that he does not think his father has very long. This John is also a KJV man.

Please pray for these two dear brothers.

What a testimony! I love to hear about our elderly who have stood by the firm foundations all their lives, it is humbling.

Brother David, I certainly will keep them in my prayers.

Brother 2 passed into the presence of the Lord last Tuesday.

The first brother mentioned is very frail now and can barely walk, even with assistance. He still manages to get out most Lord's Day mornings, though, but does not manage the evening services any more.

Brother David... I apologize for just seeing this.

Amen, to what Brother Jim said. How beautiful that is. *smiling*

Praise God... for a faithful and obedient servant, at that age. How truly humbling that is to hear.

I will keep this family close to my heart in prayer.

This reminds me of this scripture:

RE: Prayer for two dear Brothers please.
The funeral was held last Wednesday at the cemetery and there was standing room only. I was unable to go as I was unwell on the day. I was told by several people that a great gospel message was given.

One of the sons who is not a believer was taken by a friend who is not only not a believer, but has never been in a place of worship before. He had no intention of going in but thought the hymn singing was so pleasant that he went in to see what it was all about. He was challenged by the message and afterward questioned the minister lengthily about the faith.

That is an wonderful testimony, Davo. *smiling* I pray for this man to come to the Father in heaven by "salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ." I love it when people walk into our churches (in this case a cemetary) to hear our music. Gospel hymns of our faith truly open the door for the message to be preached.

Romans 10:9-10... 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. King James Bible

RE: Prayer for two dear Brothers please
Brother John has stood down as a deacon as his term has come to an end. He is so frail now that we are not likely to see him at any services, although we pray for him and know that he prays for us.

I would like to add another brother from our church. Andrew a deacon who has a certain disability. He is nearly always the last to leave as he locks up the church. (Ps 84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.) He works in one of our local supermarkets. His two loves are his Lord and the church and his job. When we shop there and see him, he always the most busy of staff you see. If you speak to him he will carry on working while he answers. A few years ago when the store started Sunday opening they brought out new contracts requiring staff to work on the Lord's day, if needed. Andrew has been on the old contract, but now the company are trying to change all the staff to the new contract. That would mean that he would sometimes have to work on the Lord's days.

He did work for a rival store when it was new, but they hired a lot of people until the store was set up then fired (we say sacked) a lot of them. Andrew was one of them He was hired by his current employer when that store was also new and has been working there ever since.

Please pray for Andrew's situation.

Bro Davo,
I just saw this and second Bro Jim's comments - what a joy to hear about elderly saints who have stayed by the stuff! We are definitely praying for Bro John & family, and Bro Andrew.

RE: Prayer for two dear Brothers please.
Brother John was at our service yesterday. His son brought him in a wheelchair. He sat in the chair during the service. His wife was also there for the first time this year. I am not sure what problem she had (I don't like asking a lady) but she had an operation and has just been well enough to attend.

God bless them.
