A study of the writings of the Christian "Church Fathers" shows that much of the "New Testament" was written in Hebrew. This includes direct statements made by; Papias, Ireneus, Origin, Eusubius, Epiphaneus, Jerome and Clement of Alexandria. I would be very interested to see some actual quotes from those writers to see what they said. RE: LXX Hoax
As I understand it, neither The Lord nor any of the NT writers, quoted from the infamous LXX. Granted the scriptures went from Hebrew to koine Greek, but the corrupted septuagint (translated AFTER the close of the NT canon) was not a major factor in any church-guarded/God-blessed translation.
"Always correct the Bible critics with the King James' text and never worry about doing it. Do it cheerfully, prayerfully, and with thanksgiving, giving the glory to God and being assured that at the Judgment Seat of Christ, you won't have anything to worry about." Dr. Peter S. Ruckman |
