New from Michigan
I am Barry from Davison, Michigan. Yes, the same city that will not post a sign in recognition of Michael Moore
GreekTim introduced me to this forum. I now use MyBB as well on my KJV Only Forum and love its flexibility. I see that you did some .htaccess work to get your clean urls. Does MyBB have a mod for that or is it your custom coding? I was saved around the age of 8 or 9. I was baptized at 12. Went to Bible College (MBBC 1984-88 ) Went to Seminary (DBTS 1988-1995) Was a youth pastor, associate and assistant in three different churches. I am helping a friend start a church. I support myself as a Web Developer/SEO. That's about it! |

Welcome aboard Brother! I am sort of surprised that GreekTim would refer anyone to our site. I am pleased that he did and pray you will be an active contributer.

RE: New from Michigan
Hi barry,
You say your forum is KJVO but your What we believe says Quote:…that no single English translation possesses God’s special authorization or blessing, and that any translation must by judged by comparison to the existing Greek and Hebrew texts. and I think that I read on there somewhere on there that unless otherwise stated, text is taken from the ESV? David Job 19:25 But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth, And at last he will stand up upon the earth: |

RE: New from Michigan
I call it a KJVO Beliefs Forum because that is where we discuss the KJVO beliefs. I don't know what else to call it.
The site is programmed to automatically load the ESV scriptures. So, I had to add the copyright information. I personally use the NIV and have NIV-based curriculum. Some of the authors have KJV-based curriculum. Another has NASB-based curriculum. |

Let's be open and up front
Barry, I am sincere in welcoming you here. I am not in charge in any way, so I am speaking entirely for myself. I think that we all need to be open and clear for our intentions. I am confident enough in my faith to be able to deal with those who see things differently, and I am not afraid to give my answers to any and all questions. This board however exists as a place for those who agree with the Statement of Faith, so that we will have a place where we can discuss the issues from a similar prospective. It is not a place where these issues are debated as to being true or false.
The Statement of Faith listed for this forum establishes a very clear position on many issues, but pertinent to this thread is the supremacy of the KJB. Here is that statement: Quote:1. We believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The Old and New Testaments are inspired and inerrant in the original writings , and they are the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those preserved texts of the original languages we accept and use; the King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use. In the beginning of the forum topic entitled "General Discussion", there is a thread that starts, "Read this before you post...". In that thread, there is an admonition: Quote:Before I go any further, I ask you to read the Statement of Faith here:Are you in agreement with the S of F? Again, I personally don't mind discussing the text issues with those who don't support the KJB as being the only acceptable Bible, but this forum is not the place for that. It is up to Raymond and Jim as to who is allowed to post, but I have no problem having you here if you agree to the following: 1. You will not present anything that questions or criticizes the KJB. 2. You will use the KJB when quoting Scripture in your posts. P.S. The same goes for you, GT. In the Service of the KING, Brother Tim Keyes (Proverbs 3:5-6) When I fully rely upon God, I find that He is fully reliable. http://www.morningchapel.org |

It is not a place where these issues are debated as to being true or false. You are very right Brother Tim. I carefully read through the statement of faith posted under "New Members." I completely agree with this one: http://www.fundamentalpreaching.com/foru...ut540.html I did not see the version of the statement of faith you just posted. I am not in agreement with that. Thank you for pointing this out before I was viewed as a troublemaker. With that said, I will just lurk Quote:If you find yourself not completely agreeing with it, then we humbly ask that you do not post. We do not ask this in a hateful manner, we are simply desiring god-honouring discussions between like-minded brethren. No problem here. You know me and that I will graciously accept the terms. Hopefully I will see you on my forum sometime. I miss the interaction. Let me be clear, GreekTim did not encourage me to join the forum. He simply showed me this forum as being a great piece of software which allows Greek and Hebrew text. I simply joined because I saw a version of the statement of faith with which I could agree. |

I appreciate your honest response. Now if you could only give into the whole truth we'd be even happier. (You too, GT!)

RE: New from Michigan
Brother Tim, your post was very well done and exactly correct. Barry, speaking as one of the moderators of the site we will not accept nor even tolerate any type of aspersions, doubt or attempts to show that the King James Bible is not the True Word of God, inerrant and preserved as such for the believer. We have difficulties in this area previously and will take action to keep people who attempt to cause divisions or do not completely accept our statement of faith from posting here. It only causes dissension and ill-will.
It is not entirely only up to Raymond and Jim as to who participates here. One of my responsibilities to the forums and its members is to stay in constant contact with Brother Jim as to any concerns I have over the way things are going. In Christ, George (Galatians 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. |

RE: New from Michigan
freesundayschoollessons,
That is a link to the old website, How did you get that link? I have spoken to Ray, and I will see if he can get rid of that link or redirect the FQDN to the proper one. The SoF can be found here, if you do not agree with it, then I do ask that you do not post please. http://www.fundamentalpreaching.com/stat...t-540.html Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. |

RE: New from Michigan
Thanks. We actually upgraded the PHP version sometime back and paralleled the installation location so we wouldn't have any downtime, thereby keeping the old version intact.
Thank you, Jim Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. |
