Parralel version
There was a Chinese lady in our church this morning. She had a parallel English/Chinese bible. The English was King James. She said she had bought it yesterday in the Metropolitan Tabernacle bookshop on the way down. She wanted a KJV, but said she couldn't get a KJV in China.

Brother Davo, in the Church I formerly attended there was a Chinese ministry. Almost all of the people used a parallel English/Chinese Bible. The English version was as you said, the King James. It is quite fascinating to me how they can read both of them. I do use a Hebrew/Greek Key Word study Bible at times but that is nothing like having a parallel Bible in another language.

It is a sad commentary that she cannot get a King James Bible in her homeland. If the missionaries keep working perhaps that will not be true before too long. It is another thing to pray for.

In Christ,
George

(Galatians 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

George, My wife has a parallel English/French new Testament. The English is KJV but the French is by J F Ostervald, it was published by the American Bible Society in 1854.

My wife has read the Bible in French since she was learing the language at college 50 years or so ago. There was an interesting time when my daughter asked if I could get mum's French Bible without her knowledge as she wished to make her a cover for it. I managed to get it without her knowledge and hand it to my daughter who had it for about 2 weeks. During that time she was constantly searching for it, convinced that she had left it at church, she was asking everyone if they had seen it. I had to go round after her and tell people not to look too hard.

Eventually my daughter turned up and gave her mum the Bible with the new cover on it said in French on the front and English on the back:

Ps 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
