Nice to be here
Ah,
Finally home!
Good to be with believers who believe the Bible, who believe the KJB is Gods masterpiece in our english language. It is literary perfection.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

We just dont get better than this, do we?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

From a fairly new member myself, welcome. YOu seem like you will fit in very well here. I am looking forward to future conversations, brother.

Out of curiosity, what does your handle mean?

RE: Nice to be here
Actually my name is Art and the 1611 is obvious. The "Book" part of my name is because when I first got a pc, no board would take Art ,saying that name was already taken. So I tried, Artful, Artistic, Artwork, everything with Art was taken. So I tried Artbook and it stuck so have used it for 7 years.

Hey, Art. It's good to see you here. I hope you'll have a good time with us. Check out some of the more recent threads and you'll get a good lay of the land, who is right, and who is mixed up. You'll find most of all that we keep everyone up to a better standard of behavior than the other board where you and I have met. Plus, we who are right outnumber the mixed-up one(s). Smile

JIM! Lock post #5 here so GreekTim can't erase it! We finally have the truth from him, AND it's in English!!
No, wait, there's probably something tricky about his use of the word "am". I'll check it in my Strong's, right next to Clinton's definition of "is". Shocked

I can't stop laughing, Brother Tim.

Just a clarification for Art, it was an identification not a confession. I don't use the KJV. I think I am all by myself on this issue in this forum.

Greektim sayeth:

END QUOTE.

Well, if you dont use the KJ, what do you use.? Betty Crockers cookbook? The Book of Moron??

C'mon old chap, get with the action. Get an old crusty archaic authorized King James Bible and your sorrow will be turned into joy. Smile

RE: Nice to be here
Here we go with the squiggly lines again. Jim, you should have never showed him how to do that. Now he thinks he's something.

Art, he's not an "old chap". That's his problem. He thinks we oldtimers are just stuck behind the times, and with a little Greek education (30 min per day, 1 night a week for a year), we can stop being confused by the limitations of the English. He'll grow up some time and learn. Just take a look at his picture on his web site. He's a KID. He preaches pretty good, though. (Check out his Resurrection Sunday message.)

though you'll have to BYOB (bring your own Bible) 'cause he doesn't know how to read from the real one.

I looked at his web page. Ya, He is a youngen. But we will forgive him if he buys a kJ. Once he does, his sermons will go from 9 minutes to 45 minutes. Smile

RE: Nice to be here
Actually, I personally own 3 KJV's. I don't think 1 more is going to help.

And I resent being accused of having 9 minute sermons. I always make it to the mid to high teens at least Wink

Tim
Are those 3 KJ Bibles the ones that are huge and they sit on the mantle of your fireplace? I didnt mean those, they are far too heavy. Guaranteed, once you get a hand held copy of the KJ, your sermons will be longer, and greater and the congregation will shake your hand much more vigorously at the end of the meeting. Try it, you'll like it.
