Correction - 4 KJV's. One is a tiny kind (it is the size of those green Gideon NT but it actually has the entire OT & NT; talk about small print). The other 3 are normal, hand-held size not the display kind.
As to my preaching, this is very ironic. When I began preaching, I used the KJV. My sermons were average 20-25 minutes long. So I have tried it, and for the record I didn't hate it but didn't "like it" as you said I would. I no longer use the KJV and now I preach 35-45 minutes. I don't attribute any of it to a translation either. Preaching is just one of those things that you get better the more you do it.

I meant to ask, Art. Where are you from?

What playoffs?
Smile

I am not a very good Canadian because I dont like hockey. But I do parasail, like camping and love motor sports. I just took an early retirement last July after 44 years in machine shop.
Now I can play, and post and encourage pastors like you to use a KJ. Smile

It takes GT the extra time now to say the same thing, 'cause he has to read it in several languages, and then have someone interpret. Razz

Sticks and stones, brethren, sticks and stones. But I can take it. THe question is, can you take any jokes about you guys and the KJV? Hmmmm. Well I won't go there (anymore) because I know it is a subject which requires respect. So I will bite my tongue.

RE: Nice to be here
I dont mind what people might say to me about my KJ stand. Some in my city call me "archaic art" or some say on the phone "hello,is 1611 there please"?
Or whenever they see me, they say " what sayest thou,artbook1611"? or others may "you still
reading that stone age Bible"? or "Heh you , Ruckmanite", or even "fool", Smile

Then others say to me, "wasnt king James a homo"? and so on and so on.
But I dont mind at all because I am priviledged to have Gods Word in my hand that is absolutely error free.
I just get angry with guys who trash the Bible like Steelmaker does on another board. He spends his whole time proving that the scriptures are riddled with errors.
Oops,coffee time, gotta run.

RE: Nice to be here
Hi Art,
Welcome to the club! As Bro Tim said, the winners are in the majority here. We have a few detractors/hecklers here and there, but for the most part, we love The Lord and His Book.

As far as steelmaker - AKA robycop3 - pray for him. If he's saved, he's the most carnal, childish little troublemaker in the sandbox. He even thinks you can lose your salvation. I think somebody, somewhere (a real Bible-believer) put a "burr under his saddle" and he hasn't gotten over it yet.

Just a historical note for the rest of the crew, the Canadians have been one of the few (the Aussies being the other) that have stuck with the U.S. through every war we've fought!

"Always correct the Bible critics with the King James' text and never worry about doing it. Do it cheerfully, prayerfully, and with thanksgiving, giving the glory to God and being assured that at the Judgment Seat of Christ, you won't have anything to worry about." Dr. Peter S. Ruckman

Hi Mongol Servant
Truly nice to be here. Its like a little oasis in the desert. A place of refreshing after getting beat up by the worldlings and even some "professing" Christians. But I am fully aware, we are more than conquerors, because"it is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us".

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Quote:Guaranteed, once you get a hand held copy of the KJ, your sermons will be longer, and greater and the congregation will shake your hand much more vigorously at the end of the meeting. Try it, you'll like it.

My my brother, I have a feeling this is the beginning of a long and beautiful friendship.....

Welcome, welcome! I am looking forward to your input.

I enjoy hunting, reading my bible, camping, and competitive shooting. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine up there in B.C. buys antique british pistols, and I am one a few people in the U.S. willing to go through all the red tape to get them to him.

I'll never tell.

But, no that is not me in the picture. it is from the famous painting "Grace" by Enstrom. Most schools had it hanging in classrooms before satan glorification came in to the public school system.

It has always held a special place in my heart, because of the look of humility. It almost in a nutshell represents our responsibility, in character, to Jesus Christ.
