Do all religions lead to Heaven?
Bush: All religions pray to 'same God'

Do all religions ultimately lead everyone to the same Heaven? Is each religion just a different way for God to express Himself to the human race? Is God so merciful that He will allow people into Heaven as long as they followed their religion closely? These are all valid questions that deserve to be answered. The answer to these questions will decide the fate of billions of souls who are living or have lived.

George Bush for the second time now has made the statement that all religions are basically the same and that they all pray to the same God. Now, either he is correct and it truly does not matter which religion a person belongs to as long as they follow it, or there is only one true religion and all others are leading people in false hopes. Bush claims to be a Christian and for him to make this statement means that either a good majority of Christians throughout history have been mistaken or he is a very poor Christian himself.

Do all religions pray to the same God or is Christianity unique in its character? If we look in the Bible we discover that God has clearly stated that all religions do not lead to the same destination. Christ said in John 14:6, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' If all religions were the same then why did God on numerous occasions declare that His people were not to have any other gods. No, I am afraid the Bible is very clear that there is only one God and His name is not Allah, Buddha, etc... Instead, it is Jehovah and His Son is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Those who follow another religion are going to be in for a rude awakening one day. No matter what Bush or any other compromiser within Christianity may say there is only one God and one way to Heaven. Without Christ as their Lord and Saviour then the followers of those other religions will spend an eternity in Hell. If Bush truly is saved then he ought to be witnessing to these others about how Christ can wash their sins away instead of placating them and giving them a false sense of security. The problem is Bush is probably repeating false doctrine which he has heard from others who have compromised on what the Bible truly says.

Paul said it well when he told Timothy, 'For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned into fables.' How sad it is that this has become the majority of Christendom in this day and age. The fact that someone who claims the title of Christian and yet can say that people can reach Heaven some other way than through Christ is proof that we are living in a truly apostate age.

If you are a Christian then I trust that you will not compromise on the truth found in the Word of God by telling other people that they will be OK as long as they follow their own religion. If you are lost then I plead with you from the bottom of my heart not to put off accepting Christ as your Saviour. We never know what tomorrow may bring and for some reading this it may bring an eternity spent in torments.

In Christ,

PreacherE

Jeremiah 20:9b
'But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.'

Hi PreacherE

I'm glad to say that on the forums that I've seen this discussed on so far, the responses has been similar to yours.

However, I do believe that ecumenism, in its attempts to establish unity is increasingly looking to build bridges between Christianity and Islam. I think that it will be an increasing challenge for Christians and will sort out those who are sure about what they believe (and are prepared to stand by it) from those who don't.
