Islamic Christian?
Priest goes Muslim, but remains Christian
Ann Holmes Redding is an Episcopal priest who just over a year ago became a Muslim and now worships at a mosque on Friday before putting on her robe for Sunday morning's service. She has been a priest for more than twenty years, but her adherence to Islam is now causing confusion among both Christians and Muslims. She has stated that it does not matter to her whether both of the religions are reconciled with each other. She believes that on the basic level both religions are compatible with one another. She claims that she felt a pull on her heart to Islam that was a part of her identity. Her bishop has even affirmed her embrace of Islam and is looking forward to the interfaith possibilities. Redding has never believed in the doctrine of original sin or in the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ. She believes that all humans are the children of God and that all humans are divine because God lives within everyone. She underwent the shahada in March of 2006 testifying that there is only one god, Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger. It is very evident from this woman's own testimony that she has never accepted Christ as her Saviour to begin with. Not only is she in violation of Scripture by holding the position she is in, but she also denies at least two important doctrines of the Word of God. The Bible clearly teaches that the position of pastor is solely for a man who is married to one woman (I Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:6). Mankind also is born with original sin (Romans 5:12) and Christ truly is the Son of God (John 10:30). Sadly, this is not an isolated incident among the many denominations of 'Christianity.' This woman has no business even calling herself a Christian seeing as how she obviously does not know Christ if she can accept the Islamic teaching of him merely being a prophet and not the Son of God. There are many other people in all of the denominations who are in exactly the same boat as Redding. Some denominations are worse than others. Many are so filled with unregenerate members and leaders that you would be hard pressed to find an actual born-again Christian in the entire denomination. If Mrs. Redding was truly born-again then she would know that Christianity and Islam will never be compatible with each other. There is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ God's Son. Islamic teaches nothing similar to this. Where Christianity is by grace through faith Islam is a works based religion just like every other religion outside of true Christianity. Looking throughout history Islam has constantly been a religion of violence while Christ taught us to be peacemakers. In this day and age of ecumenical movements and compromises it is ever more needful that we stand on the truth of the Word of God. We need to stand strong in our convictions and in the doctrines laid out in the Bible. It is the one book that tells us how to obtain eternal life. Islam and these other religions that many are yoking together with are nothing more than wide roads leading untold millions to a devil's Hell. Mrs. Redding and those like her would do well to read the Bible and accept Christ as their Saviour then she would truly find God. In Christ, PreacherE Jeremiah 20:9b 'But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.' |

Confused???
The Koran states allah had no son....
The Bible states Jehovah did. His name is Jesus and He is the Saviour of the world. A definite contradiction. You cannot serve two masters. This is another step at ecumenicalism. There are those who will agree with her. |
