Tetragrammaton
I am tentative in asking this, but I was curious. What is everyone's view on the four-letter name from God (יהוה)? I believe it is translated "Jehovah" 7x's in the KJV. The rest of the time it is translated LORD or GOD (in all caps). Recent scholars prefer to pronounce it Yahweh. Others say that YHVH is not to be pronounced regardless and perhaps even a correct pronounciation is unatainable. When I came across this word in my Hebrew class, we did what the Jews did and substituted the word Adonai (Lord) instead of mispronouncing the name. Of course all of this was done by the Jews in relation to the commandment not to take the Lord's name in vain. I was wondering what the views are here. I am especially interested in knowing who likes the title Jehovah and if you know where it comes from.

As some counties promounce J as we would pronounce Y and W as we would pronounce V, I suppose the two are near enough the same anyway. In French they dont have a W sound and it is pronounced as V and is called double V. Latin did not have J so I wonder what they used?
I have just looked up French which says l’Eternel and Gerfman which has «HERR»
Darby's French has this in the verses where the KJ has Jehovah:
David
Job 19:25 But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth, And at last he will stand up upon the earth:

Is "Jesus" the most meaningful pronunciation?

RE: Tetragrammaton
Isa 45:21 Declare ye, and bring near, Yea, they take counsel together, Who hath proclaimed this from of old? From that time hath declared it? Is it not I -- Jehovah? And there is no other god besides Me, A God righteous and saving, there is none save Me.
Isa 45:22 Turn to Me, and be saved, all ends of the earth, For I [am] God, and there is none else.
Isa 45:23 By Myself I have sworn, Gone out from my mouth in righteousness hath a word, And it turneth not back, That to Me, bow doth every knee, every tongue swear. (Young - to read Jehovah)
Phl 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;
