RFID VeriChip coming
Folks,
It is coming closer and closer.
I am a Network Administrator for a company in South Carolina and as such I am responsible for staying in touch with the latest technology. One of those technologies that I have been studying for a little while has become alarming and exciting at the same time. It is called RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). They come in two flavors: Active and Passive. This technology was originally supposed to take over bar-coding, but seems to have found another interest...humans. Please read the articles below and let us all know what you think about this "new technology to help mankind".

Hmmm... I notice that they've changed the location of the proposed implants since the last articles I've read about them... Scientists consider the upper arm to be much less objectionable to the 'religious right' than right hand, do you think? (No, it won't be any less objectionable to a lot of people, I'm guessing.)
There have been articles about chips like this for over 10 years, so the concept isn't new. The idea of implantation in the upper arm v. the hand is, at least to me, though.
But on the same topic... What is the seal of God discussed in Rev 7:3 & 9:4?

Actually, the Verichip from Applied Digital Solutions only started in December of 2001. This is the only chip thus far to contain an active RFID implementation. It reports who you are, your medical conditions, all kinds of other information and also including (sic) "a unique serial number ", so it's not just a concept anymore. This is reality, it is happening, and it is happening in America, also in it's final stages of FDA approval. And it is happening VERY rapidly.
As for the location, it could also draw up age old arguments such as Did Jesus have his hands or wrist pierced... etc. The location does not matter. It is under the skin and in the location of what the old Greek language could have supported.
Think on this: When rapture occurs, will people really be surprised to see planes fall out of the sky, cars inexplicably crashing? (Remember 9/11), no they have seen it before, and there really won't be any eyewitnesses left alive to explain, will there?
ALL of prophecy has been fulfilled up to rapture, there is nothing left that needs to be done. People for hundreds and yes, thousands of years have been "predicting" the rapture. That is not what I am doing, but God said to be vigilant, ready, and blameless, the Bride of Christ (the Church body)needs to be ready. We do not know the day or the hour, but as we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, I feel the urgency greater and greater. We need to be effective witnesses for Christ. The time is drawing near, I doubt anyone would argue with that.
Please do not take this as refuting your earlier post, I hope that is not what you think. I think we agree.
As for your last question. Yes, it is wonderful to know of the 144,000 that will be sealed for Christ. Being post-rapture during the tribulation, at least we have knowledge that there will be 144,000 saved after the rapture occurs.
Taking the VeriChip before the rapture, may in and of itself, be nothing wrong, right now. However, we have our warning, and as Christians should never allow anything to be embedded in our bodies that would disturb our spirit. These are just my thoughts
In Christ,
Jim

Thank you for your response. I didn't realize the verichip was so new, but remember studying about the end time, including computer chips embedded in the skin, about 14 years ago (hey, my spiritual birthday is about a month away!!)
I have always had a greater concern with the motives behind the chips than with the actual chips themselves... not that the chip would be right, but that people would be unwilling to trust God, and that people might make excuses for allowing them and other things for reasons like fear, government pressures, peer pressure, greed, better salaries, and so forth.
I remember a discussion that my parents had years ago about the mark of the beast and not being able to buy sell or trade... my dad said well, he would protect us by getting the chip so he could buy and sell, even if it meant he would condemn his soul but protect us... very, uh, considerate of him, but it really really bothered me because it came out sounding less like a consideration and protection of family and more like concern about keeping things that won't mean anything in the long run, like money and careers and things like that.
When God delivered the Israelites, the Bible says several times that the plague affected everything in Egypt except the land of Goshen. I believe the same will be true of us in the times to come. If we are still on earth when the mark of the beast is implemented (which I believe wholeheartedly) then God will protect us just as He did the Israelites. If we are still here during part or all of the trib, then He will keep us just as He did them. It won't make God's people any more loved by the world, but it will resound what is already being heard by some, "Look up, for your redemption draweth nigh"!!

maryks,
Congratulations on your spiritual birthday coming up soon. It is a wonderful thing to be saved by Grace through Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!
Yes, it is a good intention of your father to say such a thing. It shows his love for his family admirably, but as I saw you apprehension...... You are correct that good intentions aren't always the best if left be followed by our own wisdom.
I just have a few references for you about your earlier suggestion:
If we are still on earth when the mark of the beast is implemented (which I believe wholeheartedly) then God will protect us just as He did the Israelites.
I do not quite believe this to be true(us still being on earth), (anyway still being here and the mark of the beast being identified as what it actually is), please do not take this as criticism, just as an iron rod sharpening another iron rod.
I would go on long-winded here so I will put some pictures here and a link to a good friend and wonderful man of God's website. He is, I believe, the foremost authority on Biblical prophecy I have seen and has such a loving compassionate spirit.
This is his main site:
http://www.bobshelton.org
Here are the charts he uses, very specific:

I believe you may print the entire book without permission as long as you do not distribute it.
What I see as important is the fact that, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matt. 24:36
We also do not know how much time will pass between the rapture and the "beginning of sorrows". These things ought to show us the urgency of being prepared for Christ to receive His bride.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

I feel that there is some problems with some of the posts about this subject...
First, Jim:
"ALL of prophecy has been fulfilled up to rapture, there is nothing left that needs to be done."
Maybe I have misunderstood what you are saying here, if I have, I apologize...but there is no prophecy concerning the rapture anywhere in Scripture.
"As for your last question. Yes, it is wonderful to know of the 144,000 that will be sealed for Christ. Being post-rapture during the tribulation, at least we have knowledge that there will be 144,000 saved after the rapture occurs."
The 144,000 are not regular people, but are virgin Jewish men, I think they will be preaching the Word to those who have never heard the Gospel. According to 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, Those who have had a chance to be saved before the Rapture, will not have that same chance after the Rapture, but will be decieved into believing and following the Anti-christ. But there will be a multitude saved out of the Tribulation according to Revelation 7:9-14.
Second, Maryks-
Christians will not be here during any part of the Tribulation.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-8. In verse 7, one of the dictionary meanings of "let", is to "hinder, prevent, or obstruct". So, the only thing keeping Satan from revealing the Anti-christ, is the Holy Spirit, and Satan will continue to be hindered until He (the Holy Spirit) will be taken out of the way. The Holy Spirit will be taken out of the way at the Rapture, and He will take us (Christians) with Him. We as Chtistians have no reason to worry about or fear the Tribulation, as we will not be here.
This is quite an indepth study, and can be proven by Scripture. Besides, if Christians were to go thru the Tribulation, there is no way they could receive the mark of the beast, because that would mean they would lose their salvation.

Yes, I probably should have been more clear on my wording, I have been ever guilty of that.
All prophecies have been fulfilled, so nothing else need be fulfilled before the rapture occurs, is what I should have said.
Absolutely correct, those people who have heard the Gospel of Christ and reject it before the rapture occurs, after the rapture they will believe a lie and will not be saved. Thank you for elaborating that for me. I am not a man of eloquent speech
Only one question, where is the reference that they will be men and they will be virgin's? I would like to study on that for some of my future conversations. (Not arguing, just wanting to learn).
In Christ,
Jim
P.S. (I am editing this post)
After thinking on your earlier statement:
Maybe I have misunderstood what you are saying here, if I have, I apologize...but there is no prophecy concerning the rapture anywhere in Scripture.
You do believe in the rapture don't you?

Yes, I do believe in the Rapture. A lot of people think there are prophecies for the Rapture, but there are none.
Revelation 7:3-8, and 14:1-5. These passages really stop J W's., because none of them are Jewish, very few, if any, are virgins, and this group contains no women, so there is no way any J. W.'s will be among the 144,000.

Too true Too true. Man, I knew I was going to love this place when I joined!
Yes, I have always had a hard time getting my point across(my own fault). I believe sometimes I could start an argument with myself, just to find out I was arguing two seperate subjects between myself!
Anyhow, I find it very interesting, after I became an IFB, that everything I believed agreed with all the other IFB's. It shocked me because I had never seen that before. Anywhere! I can talk indiscriminately with all of you guys without getting my head bit off by some arrogant, self-absorbed, scripture-twister. It is an awesome relief!
Isn't this fascinating though? To watch end times unfolding before our very eyes? I feel the urgency in my spirit and am excited and afraid at the same time. It hurts to know so many are on the wide path to hell.
In Christ,
Jim

We recently had a week of Revival in our Church. On the Thursday night the topic the evangelist chose was "End Times Prophecies and Modern Technology.' One of the subjects brought up was this RFID chip. It is rather a scary proposition.
There are similar things in existance and placed in areas that people are not aware of them already. I know there is a chip that has been placed in some retail items that allows that item to be traced during its entire lifetime. If you buy something that has this chip in it the retailer or manufacturer would be able to trace the thing no matter where it is. I believe I read somewhere recently that the use of this chip was already in the court system.
General Motors has over 50 models of vehicles that come with the "On Star" system installed. While at the outside they appear to be completely benign and do have some good to them it is another way to keep track of ones whereabouts.
I believe that the proliferation of these things is tied in with the one world government and the one world court. Before long many unsuspecting people will be able to be tracked by whatever government wants to track them.
Jesus is coming soon!
Yours in Christ,
George Groce

Yes, RFID has been going very strong lately. It is supposed to completely replace barcodes. Already Wal-Mart, Brinks Armored Car Services, and even Pharmaceutical companies have implemted this technology. These are only a few of the hundreds of companies that have transferred over to it. Go here to check out a few more, but even this list is incomplete, it just gives you an idea of where a lot of this is headed.
http://www.rfidjournal.com/article/archive/4/
RFID in and of itself is an excellent idea, but like all other things, Satan twists it into something for his own use. In this case, I firmly believe, the Mark of the Beast.

I just found out that Dr. Bob Shelton will be speaking at our church for two weeks on his book, "God's Prophetic Blueprint". I will take decisive notes and post them here. If you get a chance, please read his book, it is very informative and accurate.
You can read the entire book at:

Brother Jim, I followed the link you placed in your last post. Unfortunately it lead to a page where it wanted me to become a paid subscriber in order to view the stories. Do you know of a way around the paid part or is there possibly another website the stories can be viewed on? I am very interested in this advent of technology. It is very unfortunate that our adversary, the devil has been able to twist this to his liking.
I believe the most unfortunate thing is that there are a lot of folks that will end up having these things somewhere in their lives that are completely unsuspecting. Of course there are those too that believe this to be some kind of wonderful idea that should be exploited to its fullest.
Shades of George Orwell!
Yours in Christ,
George Groce

What a fascinating discussion. It is a privelege to be in the company of learned men who love our Saviour. (Thanks, Jim, for directing me to this discussion.)
On the VeriChip subject I can only speculate. I think that technology of this type will be used by Satan in bringing about the "mark". Perhaps the ongoing "war on terror" will be his "in" to bring this about. Fear is a great motivator of the unsaved, and this technology could be easily applied to countering terrorist movements. Add to this the convenience of a cashless society through the same technology and it is easy to imagine a false "man of peace" using these developments to deceive many...
Again, pure speculation and of little value to me as a child of the King. It does spark a desire to reach those who will have to endure such evil if they continue in their present condition, but rather than a spark, that desire should already be a mighty flame burning in my heart, motivated not by fear for the lost but of the love of Christ now abiding in me. If He is truly my Lord and God, then His desire must be my desire, and I already know that He "will have all men to be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth." God help us to labor in His fields!
I appreciated the excellent scripture references to the 144,000. End time prophecy is a fascinating subject and well worthy of study (as if any scripture were not!). What glory in His plan! What love for us that we are allowed to play a part in leading His children home by preaching His glorious gospel!
The time is short, our Lord cometh!
"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
