RE: Rapture of the Church
What is the 75-day interval?

RE: Rapture of the Church
According to Daniel 12:11-12, when the abomination of desolation is set up (1/2 through the 70th seven) then there is a count of 1,290 days (30 days more than 3 1/2 years) and 1,335 (75 days more than 3 1/2 years). Thus you have a 75 day interval from the 2nd coming and the beginning of the Kingdom. Christ will have so much to do at His 2nd coming that the actual beginning will be 75 days after the 2nd coming. Ryrie calls it "the actual functioning of Christ's millennial kingdom" (Study Bible note for Dan. 12:12). It's not spoken of much.

RE: Rapture of the Church
I knew this stuff would be confusing:
there is a count of 1,290 days (30 days more than 3 1/2 years) and 1,335 (75 days more than 3 1/2 years)
Where does the 30-day period fit? What's happening there?
So there is a 75 day waiting period (sort of like between the election and the inauguration?) because:
Christ will have so much to do at His 2nd coming that the actual beginning will be 75 days after the 2nd coming.
So you are saying that the One who created the universe in 6 days by simply speaking the word has so much to do that it takes 75 days (or maybe just 45)
In the Service of the KING,
Brother Tim Keyes (Proverbs 3:5-6)
When I fully rely upon God, I find that He is fully reliable.

RE: Rapture of the Church
The total number of days is 75. The point of them is to allow time for all the judgments to take place. I am not saying that Christ has so much to do that it will take Him 75 days. I am saying that Christ is directly intervening in the affairs of man and because of such intervention, man will need 75 days for everything to be done. We are, after all, talking about going from extreme chaos to extreme order.
The extra 30 days refer to the length of time the abomination of desolation will be left in the temple before its removal. The blessing pronounced to those who endure through the 75 day period is that they will enter the Messianic Kingdom.
The “to do list” for Christ at His 2nd coming in no particular order
1. Remove the Abomination of Desolation
2. Take care of the Antichrist & the False Prophet
3. Take care of Satan
4. Judge ALL of the Gentiles who survive (sheep and goats of Matt. 25). That task alone would take a while if restricted to a literal judgment.
5. Judge the Jews (this is debated though, Matt. 25:1-30)
6. Resurrect OT Saints and Trib saints who died (Dan. 12:1-2 & Rev. 20:4-6)
7. Preparations for the Marriage Feast of the Lamb
8. Restore and rebuild Jerusalem
9. Build a Millennial Temple (Ezekiel 40-48 ) and reestablish the temple worship under the Millennial system w/ the household of Zadok as well as w/ some Gentiles (Eze. 44:15 & Isa. 66:21)
10. Set up a theocratic monarchy
11. Set up the governmental system for Jews and Gentiles
12. Lift the curse which allows the lions to lie next to the lamb and so forth (Isa. 11)
13. Redistribute the Promise Land to the tribes of Israel.
14. Completely fulfill the unconditional covenants that God made to Israel (Abrahamic, Land/Palestinian, Davidic, & New)
That is all I can think of for the time. Needless to say, Christ will be working within the realm of humanity. He could snap His fingers, utter the words, or just make things happen immediately. But we are constrained to the text. Just as that did not happen at creation, though it could have, it will not happen in the future, though it could because Christ is omnipotent. The text accounts for 75 days between the 2nd Coming and the full inauguration of the Kingdom. The fact that it will only take Christ 75 days to make it a well oiled machine is quite extraordinary. How long did it take to get out of the great depression? Well we are talking about the worse affliction in human history and it will be completely restored near perfection in only 75 days. That aint bad!

RE: Rapture of the Church
GT, that chart is from the book, "God's Prophetic Blueprint" by Dr. Bob Shelton, a dear friend of mine.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

RE: Rapture of the Church
Why is the 2nd Coming not placed at the close of the Trib? Other than that, it was an outstanding chart.

RE: Rapture of the Church
Concerning the 75 days:
Daniel 12:11
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12:12
Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
12:13
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
1,260 days - end of the 70th week
1,290 days - the abomination continues for 30 more days
1,335 days - after 45 more days until the beginning of the millennial kingdom
Why 75 days? because there are things that must follow the Great Tribulation, but precede the Millennial kingdom
Matt 24 & 25 speaks concerning Jesus coming back to establish the millennial kingdom
His Second Coming will be sometime during that 75 day period
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

RE: Rapture of the Church
He is referring to the Second Coming as the Revelation of Christ, so as not to confuse people between that and the rapture. A large difference between the rapture and the second coming, is that during the rapture Christ will not be seen by everyone on earth. During the Second Coming He will be (Rev. 1:7)
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

RE: Rapture of the Church
I would say that the 2nd Coming marks the beginning of the 75 day interval, and not "sometime during that 75 day period." The 2nd Coming culminates at the campaign of Armageddon and thus at the end of the Trib (cf. Matt. 24:29). I understand the purpose of the differentiation in the chart though. You are correct in stating that there is a huge, HUGE difference between the Rapture & the 2nd Coming.

RE: Rapture of the Church
We do not know the day of the Second Coming. I don't think we can make an assumption of the exact time during the 75 day period as it is not told to us in scripture.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

RE: Rapture of the Church
The best I can see is that it culminates the campaign of Armegeddon and according to Matt. 24:29 takes place directly after the Trib.

RE: Rapture of the Church
GreekTim postulated:
The “to do list” for Christ at His 2nd coming in no particular order
Since Christ has so much to do, perhaps it would have been better to make plans ahead of time. There are a number of your "to-do"'s that seem to be able to be planned already, requiring no time strain. Also, you might want to go ahead and get the jobs in order, possibly delegate a few, and then some time might be saved. Wait, no, we have to stick with the 75 days, or 45, or whatever days are left after the 2nd coming, since it's already written down. Then again, maybe these are the musings of men who are trying to fit the plans of God into the guesswork of man.
NOTE: The above is absurdity to illustrate absurdity.

RE: Rapture of the Church
Brother Tim, through your absurdity you have proven 2 things. One you don’t understand at all what I was saying (which I am sure is partially my fault for not explaining it well). And two, you have not or are unable to offer a cogent response to an interpretation of Dan. 12:11-12. What do the days refer to if not after the 70th seven? By the way, I am not sure where the confusion is about the 75 days. No one said it might be 45 days. Dan. 12:12 speaks of 75 days past the 3 ½ years. Case closed as to the number – 75!

RE: Rapture of the Church
No one said it might be 45 days.
See #202.
I have repeatedly said that I have more questions than answers. I don't have a "cogent response" for any of this, because it is too fragmented.

RE: Rapture of the Church
Or perhaps you don't have an answer for this because you have not studied it out in detail. I believe that is what you yourself said ealier. You are not concerned with eschatology like you are with Bibliology (aka KJVology). So that is understandable. It is not a passion for you like it is for Jim or me. I say stick with what you love. That for you is definitely Bibliology.
