Excellent Davo. That was very good.

Dan, all things work out for the glorification of God, both great and small, and in our estimation things bad and good too.

I for one, appreciate your maturity, and rejoice. Not that I am always right about everything. I want to make it unequivocally clear that I do not stand solely upon what "I think", or what "my interpretation" is. It is upon the scripture where I take my stance and if I am wrong, then I am ready to repent and admit it. If that is arrogance, then well...I guess I am arrogant.

Like Davy Crockett said, "You know me, if I think I'm right about something, I act on it."

Love in Christ,

Jim

What was Acts 2: about - NCUNIT33 - Mon Jun 19, 2006 12:43 PM

What is Acts 2: all about?
Men of little education.....Proclaiming the gospel in different tongues (languages)
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

It was all about getting the gospel out!

2: 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

What about the Church today?
I Corinthians 14:19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

What about women speaking in tongues?

I Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Just a little more food for thought.

Thanks Jim... It is good to be back. Sometimes we just get too busy with life we forget to live.
