Prayers for my new Pastorship

Brethren and Sisters,

I would like to ask each of you to pray, as you find opportunity, that the Lord's blessing and guidance would be on my wife and I as I start a new Pastorate. We are moving from a small, but very solid and sound, church of 15 to 20 in attendance to a much larger church averaging 100+ Sunday morning attendance and good support for Sunday night service and Wednesday bible study. I have been friends with many of the members of this church for years. This church is very sound in doctrine and practice and I want that to continue. Their former pastor of 19 years is a great man of God and it is an honor to follow him. I know the accuser of the brethren, Satan, is not happy with this move as it is in the will of God. But I pray that I will continue to walk humbly with the Lord and yet carry his Word to the pulpit with boldness and love.

Also, please help me pray for the church we have been led to leave, that the Lord will send his man for them. I know the Lord is working on both ends of this, as he always does. I have preached there for around 18 years, so it was not easy to leave. But I know the Lord gave us peace about it and we trust him with the rest.

I will begin at the new church November 1.

Thanks to all, and God bless each of you.

RE: Prayers for my new Pastorship

Brother you and the two Churches involved have my thoughts and my prayers. I pray the new Church is greatly blessed by your presence and leadership.

In Christ,

RE: Prayers for my new Pastorship

Update: We had a great and blessed first Sunday together yesterday and we look forward to the blessings the Lord has in store. I preached from Colossians 2:2 and used as my text "being knit together in love". My message title was really my prayer as we enter into ministry at the church "Lord, knit our hearts together". We need our hearts knit together by the Lord so we can stand against the wiles of the devil.

Amen! You're in our prayers. Keep us updated.
