Welcome aboard Brother! I am sort of surprised that GreekTim would refer anyone to our site. I am pleased that he did and pray you will be an active contributer.

George, I'm not sure why your surprised of 'GT' recommending this site is, he still shows 'it' on his blog-site!!! He added alot of research, depth & point of view with a true Christian brethren heart. He loved the positive interaction that was often the result of most discussions here (aside from some of the personal digs that would slip in). He misses very much posting here now that the SoF was re-written. In fact he would love to get PM's or E-mail from you folks once in a while.

Well...let's see now, how can I respond to this? Why am I surprised? Because this site goes against all of GT's intellectualism and we chose not to fellowship with him because he is not a like-minded brother.

As far as what he added to the site all I saw was the addition of division and attempts to convince us we were wrong and he and his college professors are right. You say he added things with the point of view of a true Christian brethren heart. Quite frankly I did not see it that way. Perhaps he is a Christian, I have no way of knowing but I would not fellowship with him. He is not like-minded.

The Statement of Faith was finally re-written so that we do not have to put up with the things he and others that are so involved in intellectualism and denial of the Bible post here. We have faced problems of this sort off and on for a few years now. It is quite unpleasant and hurtful to have someone come into our forums and try to convince us we are wrong.

There is no Christian brethren attitude about coming into a forum and being continually disruptive. The spirit of argument has long been present here and has been rejected each and every time.

You see my friend, we really do believe the King James Bible is not only the Word of God but the very Words of God, verbally inspired, inerrant and preserved as such for the believer. If you go back and take a real, honest and objective look at the deterioration of Christianity in this country I do not believe it started with the banning of prayer and the Bible in our schools, I believe it started with the publication of the very first of the so-called modern versions of what is supposed to be a Bible.

If you look at the proliferation of these things in todays society you will see they have followed the mainstream of post-modernism and humanism. Each one has gotten successively worse. How on earth can you reconcile using the Westcott-Hort translation or any other for the matter, other than those used as the basis for the King James Bible, as the basis for God's Word when it changes constantly? Each and every one of these changes claims to be the correct Bible. That cannot be so.

This sort of intellectualism is something that is directly against God and all His teachings. It is nothing more than self-righteousness which is man trying to act like God. Man is trying to act like God because they are re-writing His Book.

The vast majority of todays modern Christians seem to me to be spending a lot of time trying to understand God. That is what re-writing His Bible is all about. Men are trying to understand God by attempting to understand what He was thinking when He had the Holy Spirit to inspire the holy men of old to write the Bible.

If we were to understand God then He would be no different than any other man and we would not need Him any more. I could quote you a number of Bible verses to support what I have said but you are most likely aware of them. Sadly those that support the modern versions may not be because those verses just may not be in their Bibles. (By the way, how does that work?)

That being said I believe you can see I completely reject what you said in the comments you addressed to me. I do not believe you understand how strongly most of us here feel on this subject.

In Christ,
George

Be kind George, I do understand, I'm a 'KJVer,AVer' as well, I merely was pointing GT's recommendation and usage (to others) of this site.
