RE: My health

Upholder, I might add just a bit to your though, its quite amazing what a person can overcome with the help of God, I've seen it several times 1st hand what people can overcome with God's help.

George seems to proclaim plainly that God was his helper, I've seen a few who don't want to share the glory with God, with most of those its usually all about I and not God..

May the Lord bless,
Jerry

RE: My health

Yes, it is God and I who have been dealing with the cancer for the last 7 years and not just me. God has provided me with some wonderful Christian doctors. God has provided me with the medication necessary to battle the cancer. God has provided me with a radiology tech who over the years has become not only a friend but a Christian.

Praise God for the things He has made available as well as for His goodness and mercies. It is not about me, it is about Him.

In Christ,
George

RE: My health

Cancer seems to be one of the most dreaded disease among men. I've lost several wonderful friends and loved ones to cancer. Thankfully most of then were saved, that sure takes much of the sting out of the loss. If the unsaved just knew what was waiting for them on the other side, surely some of them would repent and take Jesus as Savior. Its amazing the victory we can have both on this side and the other side with God as our helper. Prayers.

May the Lord Bless,
Jerry

RE: My health

Hi Bro George.

I just read your posts and will be in prayer for you. I understand as i have birth defects in my legs and a permanant injury in my back. I rarely sleep and understand the exhaustion. I take mild prescription pain meds that dont really bother me but also dont work that well. The Doc wants me on more powerful stuff but i refuse.

The great thing is, when I step behind the pulpit, God puts strength in my legs and the pain leaves. Glory to God.

My wife and I have gone the homeopathic way as have several of our friends. Got tired of Doctors that cant find the problem or just through more meds at you.

We invested in the Albert Abrams frequency machine. That with herbal supplements has improved our health greatly. It has really worked for my wife as he basically is missing part of her immune system. Royal Rife also developed this technology. Both men were medical doctors. They were done in by the FDA in the 50's before that this machine was in regular use around the country.

Most call this device quackery but I have seen it work on me and others. And yes, I have seen it cure cancer. Everything God created has a freqency. Light, sound, and even us. Well, disease has a freqency to. Hit it with the right freqency and the cells of the disease shatter and leave the body. Much like the sound that breaks a glass.

I only offer this info for you to research of you like. No intention of pushing it, only to offer the info. The best thing is to find a homeopathic doctor that is an actual medical doctor. They can give the supps and the right freqency for the fix. It is too much info to explain here but If you want more info just email me.

I am and will be praying for you.

Janet, Most people who enjoying good health do not know how fortunate they are.

This is a truism! I find that the vast majority of the people who do not have health issues just take their lives for granted. They expect to wake up each day and they expect each day to be like the one before. However life is about expectations. What happens when what they expect does not take place?

You see my friends, I know full well that each day I am given is a gift from the Lord. I do not know what to expect on any day much less the next. Let me share a little sort of poem with you:

Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is a mystery.
All we have is today
and it is a Gift.
That is why it is called "the present."

On the day when I pass on to my real home I shall be taken to a place where there are no clouds nor storms. Never a tear is shed. There is no such thing as disease. We shall spend all of our time worshiping and praising God. Oh what a wonderful day that will be!

In Christ,
George

RE: My health

I am listening Bro. George! I have difficulty dealing with sickness. I want to be as young and strong as my mind still tells me that I am - but when I listen to what my mind says - the body flat out refuses to follow through or else makes me pay dearly for it the next day! I HATE being sick - I guess that makes me the worst patient in the world!

I can understand why Elijah and Jonah both prayed and asked God to let them die - they had done all of the living that they cared to do, they had done what God had asked of them, and then when they were old and tired, they just prayed for God to let them die. They knew that heaven was a much better place.

RE: My health

Amen. Finding the Joy in the Lord is so needed in the life of the believer. I to have that issue 4given. I used to chase bad guys down, was strong as an ox, could put a rail road tie on my shoulder and carry it a hundred yards to where I would plant it to build a fence on the ranch I grew up on. Now getting out of bed is a challege. I have had to learn and am learning that this life is not about me, its about the Lord and serving and glorifynig him. I am not facing a life threatening disease at this time, yet are any of us gauranteed the next breath? No. Im praying for you all.

RE: My health

Hello Brothers and sisters, I just got in from my oncologist's appointment and wanted to let everyone know what was going on so that you can know how best to pray for me.

The reports were not good. They were not as bad as they could have been but not good. There is some progression (increase in size) of two of the tumors in my abdomen. There are also two spots on my liver they are watching. I have had metastatic disease on my liver previously and the prayer and medication got rid of them. They did leave evidence behind that could be detected in the CT scans. Now with these two it is not known if possibly two of the old ones came alive again or if they are two new ones.

The first line of offense is of course prayer. Then we are increasing the dosage of my medication. I tolerate it a lot better than a lot of people who take it. If the new level of medication and of course the prayer does not provide decrease in activity and size there are a couple of procedures I can have to work on the tumors. For one of them I would have to go to UCLA to see a very advanced GIST (the type of cancer I have) doctor.

In Christ,
George

RE: My health

George, I know it must be trying, I've never gone thru such a thing, but I have seen several who have, the closest was my wife's twin sister. My prayers are with you brother.

I did a search on GIST, this is what I came up with.

I suppose by UCLA you mean the University of California, Los Angeles .

Bro George,
Lord bless you, Brother - we continue to lift you individually and through our church. The Lord has a plan, knows what He is doing, and will give you the grace to get through it. Let us know how things come up when you return from UCLAMC.

yes Brother, that is the place. I am about 150 miles North of UCLA so it would not be too difficult to get there. I shall continue to pray the new level of medication and the power of prayer cause it to be that I do not have to make that trip.

The GistSupport.org site is an extremely good one. We also have a ListServe that is sort of like the forums here. It gives us a place to exchange experiences and ideas as well as keep up on the latest advances in dealing with these soft-tissue sarcomas. It is quite interesting that when I went in to see my oncologist yesterday he was going to recommend a clinical trial at UCLA to me of a drug known as IPA504. I knew that trial had been canceled last week. He had no idea. I got the information on the GistSupport Listserve. It is comforting in a way to know that I am more up on the latest developments than is my oncologist but at the same time it is sort of sad.

As was stated by Brother Mongol Servant, the Lord is in charge and He knows what His plans are. i do not think He is ready for me to leave this earth yet but as we know the Bible indicates that we are not even promised the rest of today much less any kind of tomorrow.

(Psa 118:24) This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

That sums it up pretty good right there. Life is about choices for me. I can choose to do as the Psalmist wrote and rejoice and be glad in today or I can choose to be miserable and completely immersed in the fact I have cancer. Personally I choose to be happy. I am not saying I don't have my moments but I do have the Lord to provide peace, strength and comfort. I give thanks every day that I am a Christian. I have no idea how I would face this if I were not saved. In fact if it were not for the prayers of many Christian Brothers and Sisters I would probably not be here right now.

In Christ,
George

RE: My health

George, I know it can be helpful to be in contact will others who sufferer from the same troubles. I'm a member of a helth group, and have enjoyed it, for those who have not walked in those shoes cannot fully understand.

Years gone by I haerd of a freind of mine who had prostate cancer and the report was quite grim, so I started visiting him eqach week. I recall he told me, "I greedy and stingy just like everyone else, I want to live as many yeras as I can. But I'm just going to take it one day at a time, let God take care of tomorrow."

Not long back I saw him and wife at Walmart, he is doing quite well, all of his reports are still coming back good.

Thinking of this makes me think of how weak we actually are, and I thought about a song, I posting 2 links for 2 beautiful songs.

Pasty Cline sings, Just A Closer Walk With Thee.

Elvis sings, How Great Thy Art

RE: My health

My favorite song is "This world is not my home" - I feel that way much of the time.

My doctors have finally changed my meds (after I took a 1 month med holiday)and I am tolerating the new meds much better.

Bro. George I am praying for you and your family and also for Bro. Deputy Dog. We are here for one reason and that is to give God the praise and Glory - which I shall do every day until He takes me home.

RE: My health

Janet, I've had several friends in heath support groups who had troubles with certain meds, them lay off of them a while, them try them once again and were able to take them. It doesn't always work, but it does for a few people.

I recall one woman named Penny who had tried everything, with the last one she tried she had very bad ill effects from. He doctor persuaded her to try it one more time after having been off of it for 2 to 3 months, that time it worked quite well and the ill effects did not show up.

Me, I tried it on one med, it still made me extremely nausea, some of us just cannot take certain meds. I once met a woman in a neurosurgeon who said that she was bad allergic to all pain meds and was having back surgery. I've been thru 6 surgeries, I can't imagine waking up and not being able to have pain relief.

May the Lord bless,
Jerry
