Modest Apparel

I went to the Modest Apparel Site and I think it is beautiful! I am a dresses-only woman. I used to think nothing about wearing my favorite jeans and other immodest clothes, but the Lord convicted me regarding the issue of "wearing that which pertains to women" and modesty a few years ago, and I boxed up all my pants and put them all away. I have been wearing dresses ever since, and eventually after a couple of year I threw the box of pants in the dumpster.

I have a bit of a problem. I am searching for a clothing site that has dresses with front openings. most of the ones I see are either pull over jumper styles, or they have back zippers. I need a zipper or button up front because of a shoulder injury that restricts my mobility to such a degree that I cannot get in and out of the pull over styles and forget about the back zipper at all (who ever invented those things never lived alone!). Shocked

I would love to find someone who lives in my neck of the woods who could sew some really simple dresses for me - 3/4 sleeve, loose fitting, front closures - i would supply all the materials. I used to sew a lot, but over the years my patience for such activity has dried up and my eyes are not what they used to be. I like shirt dress styles in plain cotton weave fabrics. Smile

Anytime I mention anything about being dresses only on other message boards I usually provoke several "pages" of harsh critism from liberal-christian women (and men!) who want me to go back to wearing pants! Sad

I will pray for someone in your area to be available for your need. Maybe you can advertise in the personals.

Sister, I do not own or wear pants either. I am in Grovetown, Georgia (close to Augusta) and I sew. A friend close by also has an abundance of fabric for dress-making. Maybe you can e-mail (kristiescarle@bellsouth.net) your measurements and I could help with a dress or two? Please send details (we have a Jo-ann's nearby!).

Kristie

Hi sister

You could try sending a pm to Raymond, he is the first on the member list on here. He owns the Modest Apparel site and he may be able to help.

RE: Modest Apparel

Thank you Sis. Kristie for the links.

My clothing all falls into the modest category already, but they are wearing out and fading fast, and since I have a new job I need to update my wardrobe. I work in a group home and I am going to need some good sturdy work dresses and aprons. I have been wearing long denim jumpers, but since I fell and hurt my shoulder last year, I have a tough time will pull over clothing. I am looking for clothes that are easier for me to navigate - button front, etc.

I just saw this. Thank you Sis. Kristie. Smile

Also, I will send Raymond a PM. Thank you Brother David.

My dresses and skirts are getting very worn. They are "wash and wear." It is great to have this information! God bless.
