Yesterday at the Golden Years fellowship at Church there was an elderly lady who had something in her purse that was one of the greatest ideas I have seen in a long time.
She had a thumb drive or flash drive as some call them that had all of her medical information posted on it. It also has her picture on it so that there can be no mistake as to who the information belongs to. If something happens to a person who has such a thing in their possession all the medics and/or the hospital has to do is plug the thing into a computer and they have all of the information they need to properly treat the patient.
When I came home I made my own. All of the thumb drives I have seen have a hold in one end that allows them to be put on a key ring. I put in my name, address, telephone number and photo. I then list all the information about my family in case they need to be contacted. I then listed my known medical conditions. Then I put in the names of the medications I take and the dosage. I also listed the names, addresses and phone numbers of my doctors.
I find this to be a wonderful idea. It is something to seriously consider for any of us who may have medical conditions or are taking prescription medications.
In Christ,
George
