Let`s compare Bibles.

In St Matthew The Received Text T/R is 18,738 words.Modern version`s text has only 18,359 words in Matthew. = 379 fewer word`s.

In modern versions on down in the NT alone has these many words missing.

#1.Matt 359 missing
#2.Mark 378 missing
#3.Luke 466 missing
#4.John 321 missing
#5.Acts 346 missing
#6.Romans 96 missing
#7.1st Cor 103 missing
#8.2nd Cor 33 missing
#9.Galatians 21 missing
#10.Ephesians 41 missing
#11.Phillipians 12 missing
#12.Collosians 40 missing
#13.1st Thess 14 missing
#14.2nd Thess 15 missing
#15.1st Timothy 33 missing
#16.2nd Timothy 16 missing
#17 Titus 7 missing
#18.Philemon 5 missing
#19.Hebrews 37 missing
#20.James 21 missing
#21. 1st Peter 40 missing
#22. 2nd Peter 5 missing
#23.1st John 34 missing
#24.2nd John 4 missing
#25.3rd John [Note] 1 extra word.
#26.Jude [Note] 9 extra words.
#27.Revelation 90 missing.

Sub Total 140,523-137,976 = 2,547 fewer words in the modern versions text.

However, after taking the two well-known passages of St Marks Gospel 16:9-20 and St Johns Gospel 7:53-8:11 into account,we obtain:

Final Total:140,523-137,601 = 2,922 fewer words in modern day version text.

Thus the modern version text is shorter in the New Testament than that of the King James Bible by about the total number of words contained in 1st Peter and 2nd Peter combined!Further,it has already been depicted that these missing God-breathed wordsare extremely significant.

It is very sad to see that the Greek New Testament text historically, used down through the centuries by the believing Church, has been cast aside and replaced by
a radically different Greek Text.

Things that are different, are not the same.Amen!

A theory, is the reason some accept modern versions,is because they dont have to read as many words, therefore affirming their laziness to read.

I am saved because my AV King James Bible tells me so {1st Corinthians 1:18}If you use any other than the King James Bible look at {1st Corinthians 1:18}I be willing to bet it says to you, that you are being saved. You are or ain`t period.

In Christ.

Brother Miller.

RE: Let`s compare Bibles.

Brother Miller, I don't that we should revive this same old thread under a different title. We have hashed it out here for a long time. I believe it also to be a moot point in that the statement of faith of the site has been changed.

Post: #1 | Statement of Faith

Quote:
1. We believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The Old and New Testaments are inspired and inerrant in the original writings , and they are the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those preserved texts of the original languages we accept and use; the King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use.
We reject such teachings as: the KJV correcting the original Greek, the apocrypha as inspired or preserved, and that italicized words were additional revelation.

I am really sort of surprised there has been no mention of this change on the forums to this point. I am very pleased to see this wording about the King James Bible added to the statement of faith of the site. Praise God that we are taking a stand for truth.

In Christ,
George

Amen! Thank you to Bro Jim & Raymond for getting the KJB into the statement of faith! GT removed his link to our site as well.

RE: Let`s compare Bibles.

It was an important step we felt we needed to make. George was an excellent catalyst in this decision as well.

George is also right, we need to start burying the arguments over the KJV now that it is in the SoF. Let's start looking at what the KJV is telling us and discuss that, and how it's application to our lives affect us.

Love in Christ,

Jim

This suggestion is just what I have been working on. Let us do some posts on what we have read in our Bibles today. Then let us post if we have gained any insight, conviction or application from what we have read. I believe it should be our own work although I also believe that including comments from other sources that are appropriate will help to bolster any insight, conviction or application we may have gotten.

The Lord has a way of opening the Bible to us. When I hear the still, calm voice in my ear telling me to read a particular part of the Bible it is opened to me as it has not been previously.

To that end I am working on a post from the first chapter of Ephesians. I shall place it on the boards when I am done; perhaps later today.

God bless you all for your stance on the Real Bible. Brother Miller I find you to be one of its greatest supporters and I applaud you for that.

In Christ,
George

Well Brothers,I agree.

If someone comes here, attacking the KJ are we to ignore them,or debate the issue?

RE: Let`s compare Bibles.

My advice is neither, simply post a link to the SoF, they should get the point.
