RE: King James Version - 1611 - Authorized Version
Hi Will,
Could you repost your article on why using the KJB is better than the TR? Some of our Greek-worshipping brethren might benefit.
Thanks!

Textus Receptus or the King James Bible?

Hi brother Mongol Servant. I'll be glad to post the link to my article about the TR versus the King James Bible. If anyone has any further questions on this, I will try to answer them.

RE: King James Version - 1611 - Authorized Version
I only use KJV, there is no reason to change to another version.
the KJV is rated at and 8 grade reading level. These people who say they use another version because it's easer to read. Must have a mental problem. but I’m talking about myself in that for when I was a young Christian I didn't know better the church I went to they use KKV but didn't talk about why it's the best so I use the inferior version, but now I have grown in the Lord a bit.
My problem is when an older Christian leave the KJV for a watered down version.
I have no problem understanding the King James Version we need to let the Spirit of God help us understand the word of God.
but a note almost no one use the 1611. We use the authorized version, now it is true that the first King James Version was dune in 1611 but the updated version we use when we us and authorized version was dune in 1879 I think.

Brother while I can appreciate your zeal for the One True Bible we must remember what Paul wrote in Galatians 5:
(Gal 5:22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (Gal 5:23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (emphasis mine)
Calling or labeling someone as having a mental problem for whatever reason is rather harsh. We cannot assign a pathological diagnosis just because someone chooses to use a different version of the Bible. I believe it is a rather poor testimony for a Christian to assign such a label to another who is obviously lacking in teaching.
Ignorance does not constitute mental illness.

I read only from my King James Version 1611 Edition. It is an exact reprint of the origional 1611 KJV. I hve seen reprints sell for hundreds of dollars. The one I have is published by Hendrickson. I found it for $40.00 on http://christianbook.com

Luke, you might be interested in reading the articles at http://www.bibleprotector.com. The very first printings of the KJB had a few small errors due to printer mistakes. See Ruth 3:15 as an example.

RE: King James Version - 1611 - Authorized Version
Brother Tim,
Thanks for the link. What a wealth of information. I will definitely re-visit the site. Other than the small errors in the 1611 version, many letters and words are also different. For example, some S’s are F’s, some V’s are U’s and sometimes the word sin is spelt sinne. There are many other unique things that are different as well. At first some words can be hard to get, but after studying for a while you get the hang of it. The 1611 is defiantly not for everyone, but I love the antiquity of it. Since it is an exact copy of the original it still has the artistic renderings on the cover page and the first letters of the chapters are beautifully stamped (originally the stamps were carved out of wood).
My ten-year-old daughter is ready for a good, quality Bible. I was looking into getting her a KJV Study Bible. Any suggestions? I want to stay away from the Scofield Study Bible because I just can’t get over the gap theory.
Your friend and brother in Jesus Christ,
Luke

I am the wrong person to ask about a "study" Bible. It doesn't matter that you might find a Bible with good study notes, it is the concept that some human's thoughts are put on the same page as God's Words. No matter how much one tries, the notes take on a higher-than-deserved status.
Buy your daughter a KJB that is plain-text. Matthew has one available. There are others on KJB sites. Stay away from KJB's that are printed by the big American companies, as the spelling of some words are changed, and some other alterations may have been made.
Matthew gives a checklist to guarantee an accurate KJB.

Brother you might want to take a look at Bearing Precious Seed. It is a ministry of a local church and only prints what I call "pure Bibles." They do not have study notes and things such as that printed in them. Let me give you the link to their web site:
http://www.bpsmilford.org/store.html
They do have a limited selection but I own three Bibles from this ministry and I can attest to their quality and durability.
You may also want to check out Sword of the Lord. They have a rather extensive selection of Bibles. Although they do carry the Scofield they do have others.

RE: King James Version - 1611 - Authorized Version
Brother Tim & Brother George,
You have both been most helpful! After talking with my pastor this morning, he too advised me to stay away from a study Bible for my daughter. Just like commentaries, although there may be many good points, man is not perfect and it is a shame to have mans imperfections intermingled with God’s perfect Word!!!
Thank you for the Bearing Precious Seed link brother George. I bought my wife a wide margin KJV much like the one their site offers only they offer it at a much better price.
Your friend and brother in Jesus Christ,
Luke

Try - http://www.purewordsoftruth.com - they have a good study Bible, published by a Baptist pastor, called the Common Man's Reference Bible. I've had mine for several months now, and it beats the Scofield/Thompson hands down.
