I can't think of a subject

I apologize for the title or the subject of this post but I really can't think of what to call it. I am going to try to be brief but it is rather complicated. I will give you all the circumstances and then if you would work out how to best pray about it, I will be very grateful.

I have cancer. It is a very rare form. My doctor has decided to treat it as a chronic disease because it keeps popping up.

My large and small intestines have become somewhat swollen in the walls in a couple of areas. They do not know what is causing it. I also have diverticulosis in the sigmoid colon.

I have a largely enlarged prostrate. I am also being treated for that.

It was discovered in my last scans that I have new tumors on my liver as well as having what the doctors describe as "lymph nodes" near my aorta.

I also suffer greatly from the side effects of the medication I have to take.

As you can see I am quite a basket case. All I can do is praise God that He is with me through all of this.

I covet all of your prayers. I don't want to sound whiny or anything like that but this morning my Pastor told me that if I would be more specific people could figure out how to better or best pray for me. That makes sense to me so here it is.

Yours humbly in Christ,
George

Prayer

Bro George,
You're on our personal prayer list and we will also mention it to our folks at prayer meeting tonight. Please keep us posted on the progress as God works thru this time. Lord Bless!

Bro George, we will also be in prayer concerning your needs. Not to be picky, but I would take some issue with your pastor about the need to be specific so that others can know how to pray. First of all, we DON'T know how to pray (Romans 8:26). What we are commanded to do is TO pray! God knows the specifics. Second, we don't know God's will for you in this time of affliction. He has a purpose for you and/or for someone who may be observing you.
It is not that listing particular needs is wrong, and knowing what I do about you from your posts, I know that you do not believe that one must follow some formula for prayer for it to reach God, but there are those who do. For this reason, I would counsel your pastor to be careful.

Father, glorify Your Name through George's suffering, and bring relief to him through Your Spirit, that others will see and give You praise.
