Holocaust

Davo (and anyone else who can help), I heard that the Holocaust was being removed from the school curruculm in the UK because it would offend the muslims who say that it did not happen. This is troubling indeed. Is this true or did someone email me something untrue that made me mad for nothing? Has anyone else heard about this?

RE: Holocaust

I have wondered the same about that news.

RE: Holocaust

I must say that I haven't heard of this, but it wouldn't surprise me. I have been reading some books about the Nazi era, and what is striking is the involvement of the Roman Catholics in the dictatorships.

Books.
Vatican Imperialism in the 20th century, by Avro Manhattan, (Zondervan, I think) I got this from a library some years ago, I think it was published about 1960.
The Vatican Against Europe, 1981,1964,1968, by Edmund Paris, translated from the French, La Vatican Contre l'Europe 1961, which a review of the original French edition said, "Everything has been set in motion to smother it in a conspiricy of silence. (Cahiers Internationaux.) Edmund Paris quotes document after document,
The Rise and Fall of the Roman Catholic Church by F. Paul Peterson. Privately Published, 1957 Brazil, 1959, GB.
The Vatican's Holocaust. By Avro Manhattan, 1986, Ozark Books, Springfield MO, 1987.
The Secret History of the Jesuits, Edmund Paris, Chick Publications, 1975, translated from French.

In these we have accounts of?: the first to send Jews to Auschwitz, a Roman Catholic, Mgr Tiso. Jesuit priests in High places in the SS, A Franciscan Monk, Br. Filipovitch, son of the "peaceful St Francis" was Commandant of a concentration camp, and an expert in cutting throats, and held throat cutting competitions.

RE: Holocaust

The official government position is that the Holocaust and slave related history is still a part of the national curriculum. However, individual teachers admit avoiding the topics for fear of the reaction of some students. With the holocaust it is fear of some Muslim students who receive a different version of history at home.

Here is a BBC article on the issue: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7226778.stm

Anyway, the official position is still to teach on the holocaust, individuals though seem hesitant.
