Hello From Manitoba, Canada

Hi my name is Irvin Wiebe from Winkler, Manitoba, Canada. I got saved very early in life at about 8 years old at a Barry Moore crusade. I was raised in a Mennonite home by my mother. When I reached the age of 18 I decided to quit going to church. I was backslidden and apostate. Later on in life when I was about 29 years old I was witnessed to by a friend from work who convinced me to come to church with him. It was at this Baptist Church that I was shown that baptism is the first step of obedience to the Lord. I got baptized soon after. Shortly after that my heart was hardened again and I decided to run from God by moving to Winnipeg to find a higher paying Job. When I moved there I attended a liberal Mennonite church that had a woman preacher. They taught me at this church that "New Age" was a term that need not be feared. I was miserable in Winnipeg and became depressed. My automobile kept getting broken into on a regular basis. I decided to move back to Winkler. My mother had been attending the Baptist Church In Winkler and is one of the founding members. Some of her friends borrowed her videos on various subjects. one that caught my eye was a video on evolution/creation by Kent Hovind. I was brought up in the public school system and was thoroughly indoctrinated by the evolutionary ideas I was taught in school. When I watched the video I was skeptical but every point I had learned about evolution was debunked one at a time by Kent. This made sense to me and I was fascinated. I soaked up all his videos and many others by Ken Ham from AnswersInGenesis.org. My doubts were entirely erased and I surprised my mother by asking her if I could go to church with her again. I have attended every Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday prayer service since then which was almost 2 years ago. I also started to go soul winning on Thursdays and Saturdays. I have my own website which has some creation science information on it. I thank the Lord form sending my Pastor Mike Sullivant to Winkler to start a church that is not compromised with liberalism, modernism, contemporary Christian music, perverted Bible versions, etc. My church is an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church.

Brother Irvin after reading your post I see the reason for your screen name. I sort of got a chuckle out of it but find it appropriate to a lot of us. Praise God you have the ability to look at yourself like that.

You have indeed found a strange situation for Canada. From what I know of Canada it is very difficult to find a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching Church. Praise God again for putting one in your life when you need it.

Our God is certain a wonderful provider! I am glad to have you with us.

May I ask, as an Independent, Fundamental Baptist Church has your Church considered starting a Chapter of Reformers Unanimous International? RUI is an International Christian Addictions Ministry which is the most successful in the world. It is designed to bring the last to Christ and the local Church. Please remember that when RUI is billed as an addictions Ministry the Bible indicates we are all addicted to sin.

If you would like to take a look at the Ministry this is the web site:

(Galatians 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Actually I have always been fascinated with computers and that is the reason for my screen name. If you have a look at my website http://floppyjoes.homeip.net you will see the correlation in my logo.

Yes praise the Lord! From what I have heard it is the largest Independent Fundamental Baptist Church building in Canada that our church meets in.
We just had a national preachers conference in our building this week only a few weeks after the new sanctuary was ready for use.

It's good to be amongst friends

In Christ,

This is the first time that I have heard of this ministry. I could have used something like that previously in my life to overcome an area of bondage in my life. I was freed by the intercessory relationship of Jesus Christ in my life.

Hello brother, and welcome aboard.

It is good to see like-minded brethren..especially in the computer industry. What exactly is your affiliation with IT?

Love in Christ,

Jim

Computer Industry

I work at a local hardware store. My fondness for computers is just a pastime. I would like to become a computer technician but I can't seem to discipline myself to do the necessary study time involved.
