I am going to respond as you have asked, although I am only digging the hole where I am deeper still.

No, please do not think you are digging a hole brother, that is not what you are doing at all. I am praying that none of this gets personal.

Finally, I am not offended. I am troubled.

This is what I feel. I am certainly not offended, but troubled in how this is going along. I think you see it in the fashion of how someone is treated by the posts given, and I do not see it that way. I see it as critique given in the best way it could have been given, given the circumstances. It boils down to this: How does one show someone else, that they are biblically incorrect, without offending them? Simple: You can't....because you do not know what kind of pride issues of the person to whom your are critiqueing.(was that sentence structure right?) Smile

Quote:
Jim, I never accused you of calling Nate a fool.

Then I sincerely apologize, I mistook you. That is what I believed. I retract my statements.

As for "scorner", then I think we just have differing definitions. If scorner means what you say, then I accede. If it means complainer, then I believe I have applied it correctly, however, my intention of applying those verses to his reaction was just that. My initial attempt to rebuke his belief in that post and a previous post(It was the second post of his that reflected doctrine different from ours, the SoF is very clear on this), was not taken well, as you can see from his posting here.

Quote:
I did believe that Nate was unjustly treated, and I took it upon myself to speak in his behalf.

See, I do not think he was unjustly treated. Here on our site, if a person posts something contrary to the SoF, and the person has claimed that they have read it, then they are rebuked or banned.

Do you agree that if you are speeding, you should get a speeding ticket? You knew the rules, and you should pay the price. Ignorance is not an excuse. You deliberately disobey a law or a rule, and you will be corrected or punished.

Love in Christ,

Jim

RE: Good day brothers

By the way, I did want to point out something in addition.

I did, in fact, PM Nate with my concerns, but I received no reply, then he posted publicly what he felt afterward with some of the things I told him in the PM, so I know he read it, and most likely simply disagrees with our SoF.
