RE: Fighting Fundamental Forums
Question? What question?
If one questions whether or not there is such a time as the 7-year "Great Tribulation", can one answer the question that has been posed?
I believe that we will be caught up to be with the LORD. When that will happen is our Father's secret.
In the Service of the KING,
Brother Tim Keyes (Proverbs 3:5-6)
When I fully rely upon God, I find that He is fully reliable.

I'm not sure what I missed. What are you asking, Brother Tim? Is your view that there is no 7 year Tribulation?

RE: Fighting Fundamental Forums
I have not settled in my mind whether or not there is a 7 year period of time before or after the catching away. Much of the basis for the 7 years comes from the 70th week of Daniel, which (at this point) I see only from an historical position - no gap. Whether or not there is enough other Biblical evidence to substantiate this end-of-time event is something that I have not studied enough to form a position.
I won't complain if it turns out that the church is taken away, and then all of the terror foretold happens. Remember to point your finger at me and laugh.

RE: Fighting Fundamental Forums
So you think the 70th seven could have already happened? Are you a preterist? This could be an interesting topic as well.
Remember to point your finger at me and laugh.
You don't have to remind me (just to clarify for those who don't understand the winking smily face, that was a joke which I am fully confident Brother Tim is aware of, can take, and give back to me)

RE: Fighting Fundamental Forums
I can't call myself a preterist because I am unfamiliar with the full meaning of the term. In reality, I am trying to take this stuff a bite at a time. Once I get all the pieces digested a little, I will begin formulating my view more.
Currently I see the 70 weeks (sevens) as being contiguous, with the last week beginning with the baptism of Jesus and ending with Stephen's death.
(oh, no, here it comes!)

RE: Fighting Fundamental Forums
What leads you to believe that? What does the time from Pentecost to the stoning of Stephen have to do with the entire purpose of the 70 sevens (cf. Dan. 9:24)? We should start a new thread. George, am I allowed to recommend a new thread to start?

Jim, I think a more important thread to start (not sure if it has been started before) would be a thread specifically on the dispensaitonal uniqueness of the Church. It has been mentioned in the rapture thread and others, but if that is addressed specifically then the problem would be cleared up, and the 70th seven and rapture are sure to follow. What do you think?

RE: Fighting Fundamental Forums
I don't know about different variations found in dispensationalism. A real dispensationalist marks a clear distinction between the Church and Israel and all other dispensations. That conclusion is based on a consistent, literal interpretation of Scripture as well as a doxological purpose in Scripture.
By the way, what was the "two-part question" you mentioned?

Watch out, guys! We have a closet post-tribber amongst us. He said the following:
the 70th seven and rapture are sure to follow
Look at the order! Uh Oh!
I am jk.
Sorry, I only had 2 hrs sleep last night, so my flesh is running faster than my spirit is.
