From Prison To Pulpit

ECCLESIASTES 11:9 "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth,' and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment, "

This verse sums up my life to the age of 22, when Jesus Christ saved me by His grace, From the time I was a small boy until I was 18, I did just about anything I wanted to do, I was very selfish, ungrateful, disobedient and rebellious, By the time I turned 18, I had been in and out of court and was a heavy drinker.

In May of 1970, I was arrested for breaking & entering. In July, I began serving a 1 to 15 year sentence at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio, a maximum security prison. I was released on parole one year later. After my release, I returned to drinking and got involved with drugs. In July of 1972, while on parole, I was arrested again for breaking & entering. I was sentenced to the Ohio State Penitentiary, in Columbus, Ohio, for 1 to 15 years. While in prison, I heard the gospel. On January 15, 1974, I repented and confessed my sin, and trusted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I praise God for His wonderful saving grace.

I CORINTHIANS 6:11
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God, "
