RE: Core Values

Amen, brother George.

Nothing beats God's Word for keeping us on the straight and narrow!

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11)

Occupy till I come (Luke 19:13b)

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)

Amen George, well said.

RE: Core Values

George, I made that point Sunday, your 100% right!

We need to be in God's Book everyday. As we are in it, they may be much we will not understand, but if we keep reading it & we need to stay in church as well, when the time comes to make a decision we may well be prepared to make that decision. If we leave Bible reading out, & we leave church out, when the time comes to make a decision we will not be prepared & will probably make the wrong decision, probably using earthly wisdom.

Plus, all of us learn by repetition, the more we read the Bible, the more of it sticks in our mind. Plus I know all of you have realized this, you can read a verse & or group of verses several times, them all of a sudden one day you read them and lights go off in you head and you learn something that is very important. When we stay out of the Word this does not happen.

In His service,
Jerry

RE: Core Values

I have been thinking of this subject core values. I have one that I was considering that teaching your children or self, self discipline. I am talking about manners. I think manners and consideration for others is a core christian value. One that shows up in how our children act in church and of course us too.

RE: Core Values

Theresa, Children need that, for few are taught manners nor to respect their elders by their parents. Even many Christians parents do not teach this.

My wife's younger brother, he has failed to teach his son any of this, he his so rude, I dislike being around him.
