Burns

Brothers and Sisters I ask your prayer for my stupidity. I tried my best to incinerate myself yesterday. I put the wood in the barbq, added the lighter fluid and hit it with a lighter. I had the front access door to the barbq open and the flames erupted right into my face and my forearms. I went to my primary care physician this morning. He sent me to a dermatologist. I have first and second degree burns on my forehead, nose and under my chin. I have first degree burns elsewhere on my face as well as both arms. I have no hair left on my arms and very little as far as eyebrows.

Please pray for healing for me. You might also want to pray that the Lord get me past my stupidity. This is by far the dumbest thing I have done in a long time.

In Christ,
George

RE: Burns

Your healing will most definitely be in my prayers. I will also pray that it will be quick. The Lord has protected me in spite of my foolish actions at times too, so you are not alone.

Oh beloved brother George, if physical ailments were required for education, you have 3 doctorates degrees. Smile

I say that in love brother. It just never seems to let up, does it?

Folks, this man has been through more physical attacks in the body than anyone I have known yet. God bless you brother, you are in my prayers.

Love in Christ,

Jim

George

I hope you soon recover.

Our fire and rescue service advise that you do not use liquid lighters for BBQs. I use* solid lighters that look like blocks of cpmpressed cardboard. They work quite well. There are some white blocks that look like ordinary firelighters, but they make they food tast of parrafin in my opinion. Someone I know uses a gas blowtorch to light his.

* More accurately, I used to. These days I use a gas BBQ.

Thank you Brother David. There is something I had not thought of before. I have a torch I use for plumbing. It would probably work very well to start the fire. The suggestion of the little fire starters is a good one too. They carry them in the market I shop at most often. I will make sure to not get ones that taste of wax though.

I am still having patches of skin slough off. Yesterday afternoon I had a patch about 3" X 1" on my right cheek come off. Last night it was in the same area on the other cheek but not quite as large. I llk terrible. The dermatologist gave me some stuff that looks like the white past lifeguards put on their noses. (Perhaps I already mentioned that.) Sunday on Church day I will not use it but merely but Neosporin on my face so I do not frighten folks too badly. I look a sight.

In Christ,
George

We have that here too Davo but it makes the food taste like kerosene.
