Any car fans here?
Vettes have always been my favorite cars since I was a little guy. My grandpa worked at GM for 33 years and my Dad worked there a short time before going to Bible college and becoming a Christian school administrator. So are there any other gearheads here? I've already forgiven many a brother in Christ for liking Mustangs, so don't be shy!

I would love to get my hands on a '67 Shelby GT500. I would even settle for a '66 GT350. Actually any old mustang would be boss (get the pun???).

I used to have a fan in my church bus, but it stopped working, so it wouldn't do you any good. I roll the windows down in my van. Just a suggestion.

I see what you did there, Brother Tim.

Bro Tim, do you find that not many people appreciate your humor? I love it!!! Are you like that in real life too?

I try to work hard on not being satirical at the wrong time. I have been misunderstood by some because of my "dry" humor, so I try to guard my tongue, but I am still thinking it inside. Sometimes it busts out.
P.S. I now reserve all my snide comments about the NIV for only the closest of like-minded friends.

Ha! As do I Brother. However when someone inquires as to why I don't care for the NIV I am not one to hold anything back.

Yeech, I forgot the subject of the thread. Personally Brother Nate I am a fan of any vehicle that will start when I need it to and get me from point A to point B. I have often thought though that I would like to get an older car to work on restoring. I have no idea which one. I guess when I saw it I would know.

So far all the vehicles I have owned have been "A to B" vehicles, but I like to admire the beautiful classic cars and the new sports cars that cost more than any home I will ever own.

Brother Nate, let's say that someone dies and leaves me a bunch of money so that I can purchase such a vehicle is there any that you would recommend for restoration? I have always been a fan of early to mid 50's chevys. I have had this dream for many years that I would like to take one and put it as close to showroom stock as I could.

RE: Any car fans here?
All I have ever had was older cars. Most have been given to me by compassionate church folks. If it doesn't have least 90-100 thousand on the odometer, then its too new for me. When I sold my house to move in with my elderly mom and dad (Dad never made it back from the hospital), I decided to buy my wife a nice car for her to drive. I found a 10 yr old Lincoln that looked really nice and ran well. Now every time I take it to the repair shop, the first words out of their mouths is "it's gonna cost about $500"! Not one door works all the way. The air shocks all leak, and are now disabled. My mom can't ride in it 'cause the bouncing hurts her back. Some deal! Well, thank the Lord, it does crank and run still. Also, shortly after we had it, someone keyed one entire side while my wife and I were doing a Bible club at a local low-rent housing project. The Lord likes me to stay humble. I'll "borrow" a verse out of Philippians, Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever car I am, therewith to be content.

RE: Any car fans here?
I have a car question.
Why does my air conditioning come on automatically in winter when it is freezing cold, but not in the summer when it is hot?

My last car was a Renault Espace which had done 170.000 miles when I got rid of it last September. Since then it has towed a caravan through France and down to the South of Spain, more than 1.500 miles which includes a number of mountains, and recently back again, with no problems.

RE: Any car fans here?
Davo, I thought you folks over there were advanced and used km instead of miles! or does that really say 170 miles? Oh, you meant to use a comma! Remember we have guys over here that have problems with translating, so you need to write in American. 170.000 there equals 170,000 here. I'm not sure which lexicon to use however.
